In the Warp, getting trolled by Tactical_Spam, AKA TZEENTCH INCARNATE

I'm trying to build up a small army of Orks so I can join a couple of people who play WH40k in the local gaming shop. I'm completely new to the game, so I'm not really looking for a complex army with a million different rules for each turn; just a small army I can throw into a good Waaagh! every once in a while

I don't really have all that many Ork models atm (which is why I'm aiming for 500 pt or higher), but here's what I got:

Troops:
- 12x Ork Boyz
- 1x Warboss
- 1x Stormboy Nob
- 2x Burna Boyz
- (5x Nobz) -> these guys are still en route to me, long live Ebay

Vehicles:
- 1x Trukk
- 1 x Warbike
- 5x "Warbikes" -> these are a couple of converted Orks on LOTR Wargs, I figured they could count as Warbikes (?)

This all mounts up to around 460 pt, excluding any wargear options (at least, according to the 4th edition Orks codex I got my hands on).

Any suggestions on how I could improve this army?
(Gameplay tips and tricks are welcome too)

you probably want a powerklaw on the warboss. Its a powerfist that looks awesome. It is pretty much a necessity on any ork army list. Also get the warboss a bike and run him with the nobs on bikes.

Stormboyz are fun but for 500 points you kind of have to go one route or the other when it comes to fast attack. I would choose bikes any day. You get 5 toughness, and a cover save. And stormboyz have a chance to die when they use their jetpacks.

Without the stormboy, and with a bike and powerkalw on the warboss, you are pretty much set for 500 points

If you want to run the warboss with the boyz, get a bosspole, and get a powerklaw on a ork nob. (seriously those things are overpowered)

IDK about the proxy for warbikes. Some GW stores are really tight about proxies, and they follow WYSIWYG to their deaths, but some are like yeah whatever.

The army looks good. If you ask people at the store, they will pretty much tell you what I told you. Just some upgrades adjustments and you are all set to go.

In regards to gameplay, I would put your forces close enough so that they can help each other out, but far away enough so they split firepower. Good luck!

Bikerz it is then

The guys at the store were using a couple of proxies themselves, so that shouldn't be that much of a problem (although it was kinda weird to see five SM Devestators without arms or heads in battle )

I still got one little question about the Trukk I have:

If I read the Codex correctly, I can fit 12 Boyz in it (which would be all the Boyz I currently have) so I can move them around a bit faster. However, one of the guys I was playing with last time had a Tau Broadside, which effortlessly sniped a SM Rhino, damn near exploding it in one shot.

Adding to this the 'Ramshackle' rules the Trukk has, I'm a bit hesitant to rely on it to get my Boyz where I want them.

Any way I can avoid my Boyz getting wiped off the table before they can get into action?

Trucks are not good if you only have one. You have to expect the enemy to destroy some. I find the trick to orks is to not rely on any one unit. Nothing is really good at surviving so instead just have to many targets for them to take out before you get stuck in.
