Subject: Best Way To Use A Necrosphinx/Ushabti?

Hey guys, I'm still learning Tomb Kings and everything, and I was wondering what the best way to use a Necrosphinx is. I've used him in 2 games, and sent him against a monster in one game, and a block of infantry in the other, and either way he doesn't seem to do much. What do you guys usually do with him?
Also, I was really liking the look of Ushabti with Great Bows, but then I realized that they just don't have a lot of shots. So, what about with Great Weapons? Do they do any better? How do you guys normally use them?

Necrosphinx is one of the fastest things we have, and honestly, isnt great. Aside from attempting to Terror chaff out of the way, what he can be good for is anti-chaff cleanup, and wizard killing. With his fly, 10" move and what, 5 KB attacks, he should make mincemeat of any lone wizards, or wizards in units...
Honestly you are better in almost every way with a Warsphinx

The Necrosphinx seems to really shine against knights. I've used one to great effect versus Chaos Knights a couple of times.
Against infantry the +1/+2 for flank/rear really, really helps.
Against other monsters, you are relying on luck for the win. Which is odd, because he's billed as a monster killer.

I've noticed that. But, yeah I think I might just have to use him to back up other units in my army, since apparently that's a trend with Tomb Kings.

Sphinxes only back up other sphinxes (or necroknights, or buffed TG). Otherwise TK units you give up so much CR you're always at risk of crumbling, and T8 doesn't help a bit with that. Think very carefully before committing a sphinx to a skeleton or chariot combat.
The best use for a necrosphinx is as a character killer. Charge into a unit in contact with that pesky lv4 wizard, bsb, etc. and throw all your attacks to maximise your chance of KB, then hope thunderstomp gives you enough CR to stay alive against return attacks and static CR.
Unlike the usual flying character the sphinx cannot be challenged, so there's a good chance of success (wizards are usually WS3, so 3 hits, which means a 40-something % chance of getting a KB).
Ushabti? Honestly I've been using them as filler for TG and skeleton units, they're that bad.

Necrosphinx is pretty bad, ok in sub 1k games though.

The best way to use them is in a display case. BADUMTISH~ (seriously though, I LOVE the models and wish they were better... but they're not :/)

Yeah, I've noticed that the Sphinx isn't the greatest, sadly. But I want to find how to actually somewhat use him well. But yeah, I should try making him a character hunter, that sounds like it would work better. And the Ushabti, I've honestly decided against them, mainly for the sheer cost of models if I want to get a lot of them.
