Thinking about the new ork codex and how the supplement works and i have a few questions. In a tournament setting how do supplements work? Say in a specific examle of the BAOwhere they only allow one CAD? Im basically wondering if its possible to take 4 hqs under the rules of a single CAD and allies.

I always press dat, if you know what I mean.

They are taken within the same CAD as the primary codex because they are the same faction as each other. As such there is no way to get extra FOC slots by taking supplement units

Does this allow you to take an HQ from the Ork Codex with 2 troops and an HQ from the new Ork supplement and still be one CAD? Or does each CAD have to be filled with the codex units or supplement units?

It says they have to be from the same Faction and the BRB only lists 'Orks' as a faction.
So if you ask me: Yes, you can mix and match the units.

The thing I am curious about is how CAD works with Formations.
Example: Can I take an 'Ork Warband', filling all the required slots, and add some Stormboyz to it?
Would those Stormboyz also gain from the Warband-rules?
Or would the entire Warband even lose its special rules?

My guess:
The Warband would be the Primary Detachment.
The Stormboyz need a HQ and troops to become their own Detachment.
Stormboyz benefit from the Waaagh, but not from the Formation special rules.

Seems simpler to just use the Ork Horde-Detachment, but than they'd lose their Waaagh! every turn.

(Asking this for a friend, he received some free Stormboyz when he bought his army and I am glad they will finally see play.. Especially with a 36" range!)
