Hey guys, title says it all. I'm looking for the correct green for the shoulder pad 2nd color for the 4th company. Also what would be a good lighter green to do the lighter color lines around it?

thanks!

I use snot green for the edges of my shoulder pads etc, but then I like brighter colours, I think it comes up pretty well!

I hear you, I just got tired of seeing the gold 2nd company and wanted to do something a little different. I'm just starting out so I don't know all the colors and shades yet so that's why I asked. So snot green is a brighter green?

What shades do you use for the blues on your Ultras? I’ve seen them from just off-grey to almost black. How dark you are will impact how bright you will want your trim. I’m afraid I can’t offer much advice, as not only am I a 3rd company marine, so would trim with red on the rare occasions I actually do, but all of my green paints are at least 2 generations old, some back to RT pots (and still good)

However, I do follow this 4th company blog so you might be able to get some better advice over there. Or at least see what your peers are up to.

thanks again Nevelon.

Yeah I'm just tired of looking at the golden 2nd company lol, though I like the red of the 3rd also. But for some reason I'm loving the green.

Also I know some companies have actual models for their commander, but does the 4th???

Not by name, but by rank. In the galley on page 131 of the codex, there is a captain of the 4th, master of the fleet shown, with a thunder hammer over his green trimmed shoulder. That would be who GW has representing captain Idaes.

Not that you need to use that mini. The only Ultramarine captain with a specific mini and rules is Sicarius

Yup, definitely brighter green, I don't know if it has got a new name now, but it's quite bright. I use mordian blue for base with some highlights in ultramarine blue, but again, there is a new name for these paints now I think.

There is a really good colour comparison chart on Dakka somewhere, I think in articles maybe, but it has all the old names and new ones was well as comparivate colours from other companies so I would check that too!
