Oh, you're talking the survey boosters, not the survey bundles. Cuz the retail boosters on MM are not the same as the bundles in the survey, by a long shot. The survey bundles contain several times more models than the retail boosters, and are BOGOF (so if you get two, they are $25 each for approx $80-$90 worth of stuff you'd get in the retail boosters)

Example, the Marauder bundle has two guntrucks ($16 each) two ripper suits + ogre guy ($16) plus another ogre guy and most of a specialists booster (let's say another $16) plus two more pyros, so we're looking at $70 ish at Mini Market's 20% off. It's $25 on the survey (as you get two bundles for $50)

Still a great deal on the survey, the Scenery packs are $31.99 @MM.
That's 4 core-world sprues, an accessory sprue and a connector sprue. That's a battlezone, right? So, $25 for battlezones on the survey and $31.99 at discounted retail.

KS BZs didn't come with an accessory sprue they threw in 1 for every 2 BZs you bought but technically 1 KS Battlezone plus an accessory sprue is $30, $27.50 at the very least so discounted retail isn't much more - KS is still a bit cheaper though and gets cheaper still the more BZs you buy.

I went into that a bit on my later post. Personally, I have no reason to have more than two of those gun-truck thingies so I'd be happy with them being separate if that's how they wind up.

The BOGO's are a fantastic deal but honestly, I don't need tons of minis on this thing, it's not a wargame, it's a smallish tabletop. I'd hate to see this on a 4x6, the rules would fall apart in my opinion. I don't think Mantic intends for this to replace Warpath so there's no reason to buy mass quantities of this stuff for me. On a regular mat you have trouble fielding more than 6 models per side anyway..

The mass of models comes in handy for army list selection more than anything else.

I have 2 Rebs starters and Rebs booster bundle and still don't have the list I want (Kraaw swarm!)

Ah yes then that makes sense. I still eyeball purchases for multiple uses (hence I bought a ton of Enforcers for generic sci fi gaming, and am seriously considering getting the big Rebs booster bundle to go with the starter set I already own). But even the survey bundles at $25, when combined with the normal starter set, pretty much gives you every option right? Making a bundle still a better deal versus buying two boosters at discount from MiniMarket for $32 to get everything for a faction.

Yep to all of the above. I'm more casual with games so the bundles I've already bought will probably do just fine. I'll have at least 2 of everything and for standard games that'll probably do me for this game.

I'm not going to be in for Kickstarters with Mantic anymore but will be looking forward to Warpath being fleshed out eventually.

Well, they're flat-out just unlocking the season 5 teams, no stretch goals or anything.

Brokkr, Sphyr, Rebs and Crystallin teams are Season 5.

Frenzy is being closed on Sunday.

Too bad it took folks dropping pledges and complaining for them to prove Frenzy will be worth while.

Still, that will give it 8 teams and the opening implication is 12 teams. I guess that give them something to use as stretch goals.

I am very glad Mantic is adding love to Frenzy though. It really needed it. The deadline for Frenzy pledges is a good gimmick to get folks upping from Rampage slots.

Getting three teams out of they way is good. I don't like any of them, but maybe there will be one in Season 6 to go with the Asterians. I might draw up some concept sketches to try to sway them.

This, however...

...is not. It's the same bs that got them into this mess. Front-loading pledges should be done in a way that gets those pledges to actually stick. If they're not pledging because they think it's worth it right now, they're doing more harm than good.

I disagree with it not being a good gimmick. It clearly is doing exactly what I thought it would. The total pledged is going way up but number of pledgers is barely moving, folks are dumping Rampage for Frenzy.

Now, is it a SMART thing to do is another question.

It could be - having a bunch of the rampage sweet spot early birds now open for the "48 hour warning" and other late comers could encourage them to go there and boost the project over all, rather than taking a more circumspect "I'll go in for $1 and see if the survey beats retail".

All predicated on the frenzy rush boosting funds to meet what are essentially up front stretch goals, and there being enough of a late crowd willing to buy in enough to make a worthwhile final push.

Question, has anyone found any good cases or other ways to store the Deadzone faction decks? I'm not interested in individual sleeves, but I do want them to be in something; the local odds and ends shops have nothing, and all I can find that's suitable on the internet is clear plastic boxes for CCG carrds.

I'm just keeping mine in old Magic: The Gathering boxes. Works well enough.

I never played MTG so i don't happen to have any laying around, but I'm pretty sure these boxes I'm looking at are meant for MTG, Ultra Pro 50 count plastic box

CCG card boxes and sleeves will do the job, the DZ cards are the same size.

While I haven't used that particular product, it looks right.

I got a 100 pack of card sleeves for Magic at home for DB cards, I don't recall the brand without looking though.

I got the cheap ultrapro boxes. Each one fits two decks. Three of them will cover all 6 factions when the next two hit. They're about $2 each in the states, every game store sells them.
I'm probably splitting BOGO options with friends to make sure we're all happy. It's still gonna be an expensive survey for me. I might have to sell my car, sperm and kidneys.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I keep having unforseen money issues =/ May have to cut my AW bundles even though their funds were technically presents lol. I think I'll still get at least a minimum of the hard plastic kits either way. And this bills in june, so what with not doing more mantic Kickstarters until maybe DKH4 or warpath (neither of which is apparently this year maybe), should be gtg. Guess it was a good idea to pick up the booster bundles earlier in the game for me.

Like the new avatar TtW, I need to paint up some of my warpath stuff so I can pick out a new one.

Lol. Have you ever wandered why plastic glue is often stored in a plastic container but has no particular issues with clogging the applicator and glue to the inside of the container?

"Actual" plastic is the misconception. "Plastic glue" is more accurately designated as polystyrene cement, as that is the only type of plastic it glues together. Calling it "plastic glue" is borderline false advertising as, showcased by several plastic modeling compounds these days, it doesn't actually glue most plastics together.

Gods, must we have this plastic nomenclature lesson every day now? We all know what words mean. In the context of the wargaming hobby, however, "plastic" means polystyrene.

Every bottle of 'plastic glue' I've gotten has been glass. Tamiya for styrene types and Plastruct Plastic Weld for mantic restic crap.

Theres... theres a plastic cement for restic? What is this sorcery?!

Google-fu says Plastruct Plastic Weld, or "Methyl Ethyl Ketone" will do the job I think, but is also quite hazardous. Hard plastic to restic even. There is less hazardous that willl do restic to restic.

Worth mentioning if the hazardness of the chemical is a concern, is that Plastruct actually has 3 different plastic solvent cements of varying strength/toxicity:
- Weldene is non-toxic and smells nice and is only for styrene.
- Bondene bonds like plastics to each other (styrene to styrene, ABS to ABS, Acrylic to Acrylic).
- Plastic Weld which is so strong the plastic goes immediately tacky, and you can weld disimilar plastics to each other (ABS to Styrene etc). Most toxic obviously

I've been using the craftics #33 I got from litko to bond plastics to acrylic (its an acrylic cement) to do trickier restic joins. I usually let that cure and go back In with super glue on big joins or those with a lot of strain on them, though it probably isn't needed. It helps if I'm in a hurry or trying to do both arms and a gun situations.

I <3 Plastruct Plastic Weld. Easy to brush on and you get a ton of it for cheap. Just assembled some Deadzone scenery earlier tonight with it for preparation for my first actual DZ game this Friday eve.

That blue stuff you see plumbers use is PVC plastic cement, and works perfectly fine on restic and the loka plastic, but it's hard to get in anything other than large tubs, they don't make convenient little hobby sized bottles for it.

I wonder if you could rebottle it (for personal use) in an empty hobby bottle - or if it would melt the lid/applicator brush?

The applicator brush is nylon isn't it? That will be fine, but I don't know what kind of plastic the lid is made from.

It obviously comes in a plastic bottle, perhaps it's the same kind of plastic - 125ml you see there is the smallest you can get
