I'm very interested in getting into X-Wing. It looks like a whole lot of quick and easy fun that's still very challenging.
However, I'm curious as to what future ships there will be. Their range is growing but already they're coming to the end of what the rebel era allows.
What's next? Made up ships? More obscure EU ships? I've heard that they won't do Clone Wars ships, which is a shame because if they had the Naboo N-1 I'd be all over that.
What have people heard about future ships?
(More variety the better imo.)

There's a decent selection available from the X-Wing series of computer games. Off the top of my head:
Skipray Blastboat
Cygnus Gunboat
Preybird fighter
Missile boat
And larger ships:
Muurian transport
Assault shuttle
Assault transport
YT-2000 (Cortana)
I could easily see an X--Wing Alliance expansion featuring the Azzermeen family...

I would like to see two new factions, Mandalorian mercenaries and Smugglers. You could get a new mix of current ships and pilots fighting together.
Remnants and older class ships vs newer models.

Though I like your other suggestions (if you add the Pulsar Skate to them), you just had to slip a Star Destroyer in there, didn't you? The Jade Shadow is probably too far past the rebellion era (first appearance was 26ABY), but the Lady Luck could also be Jade's Fire and would be a great way to get a Rebellion aligned Mara for her 5ABY and later appearances (if the game moves into any of the early New Republic Era).
I think the Aces packs are a good way to stretch out their release schedule between main ship releases, and there are a lot more they could do. There is plenty of room to expand on the existing miniatures this way, with alternate paint schemes as a bonus.

No new factions please! That's Attack Wing's territory ... and one of the major reasons I don't care for Attack Wing.
I would imagine the Virgao cannot be too far behind the Outrider. The Hound's Tooth and Lady Luck would also be nice additions. The Star Wars: Rebels TV series is also on the horizon so that could provide grist for the mill as well.
I would love to see some re-paints of the Firespray and YT-1300.
I'd also like to see the Otana but I am not sure what it could add to the game ... Automatically Appended Next Post: Honestly, what the game really needs is a scenario/campaign book.

Xizor's Virago?
I'd be all over that.
Love the look of that ship. Automatically Appended Next Post: I'd like to see the Episode III ARC Fighter. That thing would be as slow as a Y Wing, but pack a massive amount of firepower.

As has been said, since the Outrider is coming, the Virago will likely come soon afterwards. I was never a big fan of it my self but blast it if I can't play "Shadows of the Empire" as a miniature game. With it will Likely be the YT-2000. There aren't many ships left that I want to see unless you go back to Clone Wars era, they're all kind of ugly personally. Heck even for the Imperial huge ships If it's not a Victory-2 Class Frigate (a la SW:Battlefront 2 on PS2) I'd rather they just make their own design of a appropriate size as their own contribution to EU/Legends or whatever it's called now. For what they've done with this game they full well deserve to be allowed a contribution to the universe. I imagine the new movies and "Rebels" will have plenty to offer if they decide to go that route, wouldn't complain there. Would severely complain if they wanted to do the 'Vong. I also reeeaaallly don't want them to screw up the balance by adding more factions. There's no real gain but fluff at this point any way. IF, if, they did they would be best served by doing what they did in the LCG they also make and use: Jedi/Sith, Rebel/Empire, Smugglers/Bounty Hunters. But even to do that they would have a ton of overhauling to do as even adding just the last pair requires them to print new versions of six pilot cards. All those from the Millennium Falcon and Slave 1. Likely more than that if you want to get picky. While I kind of agree with Manchu about a Campaign/scenario book, I feel like the designs they've done for those so far is maybe not the strongest element of the game. What I would like to have is a package that has new 'base level' pilot cards. For instance there was a " SW: Battlefront; Renegade Squadron" that was made on the Play Station Portable. Go ahead and look it up if your not familiar. I loved that game and would really like pilot cards for it. Even if it was some thing crazy bonkers weird like. (Unique) Renegade Squad Pilot X-wing PS 4 Elite Pilot Talent, Astromech Droid, Torpedo 24 points Mind you, you could probably just get a Title card that did the same thing essentially.

Maybe there's a few old ships flying around somewhere? I guy can hope.

I'm going to call you on that one there Manchu. 'Galactic Civil War' is not implied by 'X-wing'. By that reasoning it would also include the 'Vong War and so far it hasn't done that, and hopefully won't. 'X-wing' would merely imply X-wings, and obviously the game has included far more than that. In all likelihood the choice of 'X-wing' as the face name was probably more for it's iconic value and the fact that it ends with "Wing". This seems to be the standard for all flight path games, particularly re-skin/sequels. (e.g. WINGs of War/Glory, Star Trek: Attack WING, Star Wars: X-WING, Dungeons and Dragons: Dragon WING) Automatically Appended Next Post: Also: Twin Tails

The Yuuzhan Vong war was all just a bad dream.
But even if any such thing had happened, there still would not be room for Yuuzhan Vong ships in this two-faction game.

LOL!
That we are totally agreed on. But as we've discussed numerous times there is still the content from Episodes I-III! So here's the million dollar question: do you eventually start using the new upcoming trilogy content? Before we go any further than where we are, that needs answered first I think

I think FFG will be glad to use new stuff, as long as it's basically Rebel/New Republic v. Imperial, but CW-era stuff would be better served in a zoomed-out scale.

That's an interesting thought. If it really is New Republic stuff I would start to disagree, as I have with some of the current content. I would rather see each trilogy along with it's expanded/legends content be a separate companion game to X-wing. I also tend to dislike the idea of a capital ship CW game, IF I'm understanding your zoomed-out statement. Most to almost all of the Clone Wars, heck any Star Wars fleet battles is of very slow and plodding behemoths pounding away at each other. And I don't think that fits this kind of system, seriously all the ships would be like max speed 2-straight. Star Trek gets away with it because they tend to do crazy gunnery jousting runs at each other particularly in the later series, and they managed to capture that in this system. Not that I dislike the capital ships mind you. I just want them to be done right. By all means give me LAAT/i, ARC-170's, V-wings, Y-wings, Torrents, Droid Star Fighters. Droid Tri-fighters, N-1 star fighters, Soro suub strike fighters, and an Aclamator assault ship, Ventress's Fighter, even Anakins bucket 'o bolts, I'll buy all that. But put the Venator class Star destroyers and Banking clan Frigates in something else okay? Then, I will buy the store out of Venators and be quite happy.

No, I'm not advocating a capital ship game using Flight Path. I'd like to see a completely different game for Clone Wars. TBH, I'd much rather see a ground-based CW game.
I am happy to see New Republic stuff however as I think that is a necessary part of the GCW era. I am still hoping for TIE Droids and maybe even Shadow Droids.
