I'm using a more standard colour grey myself:

Check out my gallery here
Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!! |

Personally I like the deep grey blue colour like in the picture on the cover of the codex. Especially compared to the gw baby blue scheme.

Paint on the face is a little thick mate. I use Folk Art 949 Skintone, with a 1-1 mix with good ole tap water. 1-2 coats then wash with Riekland Fleshshade (or equivilant) Otherwise looks good man I like the basing. Is it the new GW stuff?

This is the GW stuff. Its Astrogranite (Texture/Base) Agrax Earthshade (Shade/Wash) then Longbeard Grey (Dry Brush Compound.) Not to bad if you ask me, it's great for mass producing TT quality models.

I personally use Vallejo Shadow grey to paint my wolves, as I wanted a slightly darker blue grey than the studio scheme.
It comes out something like this;
You could also try just using a dark grey and do a pre-heresy scheme. It comes out like this:

I use grey, gun metal and red and white. No stupid blue to be seen. Personally I like my guys dark.
I base in grey and wash in black then highlight in same grey!
This is just the armour. The other details bring the model into a nice look.

I use a very dark grey, with red for spot colours and various browns/greys for pelts. I basecoat with a grey (very similar to the Dakka background!), wash black, highlight in line grey and then do the dark red and metal areas.

Grizzled Space Wolves Great Wolf

I have always wanted to see more exotic colour schemes for SW. I have been wanting to restart my Space Wolves in a new scheme as I'm getting bored of grey.
