Going to a tournament and trying to use mostly models that I already own due to money issues.
I haven't played for 2 years so I need some help with my current list - any constructive criticism will be great!

Inquisitorial detachment:

Ordo Xenos Inquisitor 99pts
Psyker, force sword, power armour, psychotroke grenades, rad grenades, 2 servo skulls, warlord

Primary detachment:
Iron hands chapter tactics

Captain 210pts
Bike, artificer armour, shield eternal, thunder hammer

Command squad 320pts
Bikes, apothecary, 3 power fists, lightning claw, 4 storm shields, 4 meltaguns

Terminator assault squad 485pts
5 TH/SS
Crusader with multi-melta

Tactical squad 245pts
10 guys, lascannon, meltagun, razorback with TL assault cannon

Tactical squad 245pts
10 guys, lascannon, meltagun, razorback with TL assault cannon

Stormtalon 125pts
Skyhammer

Stormtalon 125pts
Skyhammer

So the inquisitor will ride with the terminators with his bag of grenades.

As I said I'm trying not to spend money and using mostly models I already own but any criticism?
My second attempt at an army list

Looks pretty solid. I tend to prefer the LRR over the LRC for the flamers, and it saves you 10 points; dosen't look like you need to transport more than 12 models.

Other than that, I think that's a lot of points in the command squad, but am curious to hear how they perform. I would maybe drop the meltaguns all together and just get them into close combat (move and then flat out and weather the fire) since they all have expensive hand-to-hand weapons... maybe, but you'll have to tell me how they perform as a ranged unit.

The firepower on the razorbacks is nice, but I think you'll be moving them flat out pretty often to try and grab more objectives (if playing the Maelstrom missions) so I'd actually just downgrade to rhinos and keep them all together (10 man combat squadded units in a rhino output 3 independent Objective Secured units... pretty great!)

With the saved points you could probably fit in another Tactical Squad (depending on how much you cut back) or at least another toop of some kind... maybe a 5 man bolter scout unit in Land Speeder storm?

Looks fun though, with a couple big nasty units!

Won't the loss of firepower from razorbacks be a problem?

Thanks for the comments

I don't think so. From what I've experienced, they will get one round of shooting between getting blown up and moving flat out towards an objective. I suppose having lots of them would make a difference, but spamming something usually isn't too much fun IMO.

Any more feedback at all? Every little helps!

So I rune a command squad with bikes and grav guns with mixed results. Is there any reason why you make the inquisitor your primary detachment? My suggestion is you cut the land raider and termies, the power armor and Servo skulls off the inquisitor, and most likely the combat weapons off the command squad. With this you can run more rhinos and tac squads or a chapter master. To be honest 1 mastery level is useless in 7th it doesn't generate you any powers without luck and will get shut down by mildly heavy psyker lists. Also that str3 force sword isn't going to be rocking anything in close combat anytime soon unless you get in real close. If you really want the land raider downgrade it to another version for 10 points, buy a chapter master and throw him on a bike with your captain. Then with saved points on close combat weapons buy honor guard or an assault squad for your land raider

The Inquisitor can be the warlord?

Well, I don't think you need two tougher cc units, the Assault Termies would suffice.
I'd just take a Bike squad as a delivery unit for the CM.

He's not the primary detachment, he's the inquisitorial detachment by himself.

My idea was to put the inquisitor in with the assault termies and he could buff their combat abilities with grenades. I also thought paying 30pts for a force weapon and 1 mastery level was a good deal but you might be right.

I was also under the impression that honour guard and assault squads both suck?

Thanks for the ideas dude

Yeah he can, I prefer the warlord traits from the inquisition book too.

As I said, these are models I already have modelled and painted so I was trying to find a way to field them effectively without spending a bombshell on more units.

So you think I should get a chapter master too?

Also, what do you guys think about the stormtalons? Super needed?

Honor guard and assault squads DO suck but they are a lot better then assault termies simply because they are cheaper. I only suggested the master because you seemed to want a melee deathstar unit. Also with inquisition you could do what I do. I grab tigurius, a chapter master, coteaz, inquisitor, a few psyker henchmen, and sevrin Loth for invisibility and put them all in a pod right in the middle of my opponents deployment zone. Invisibility is pretty much the best power for getting assault units into combat right now.
