Hey guys, I wrapped up all my pieces for Wargames Con last weekend and wanted to share them with you all!
I took home 2 Gold awards and 2 Silvers.

First up my Dark Son Captain who took first place in Sci-Fi Single. I'm really happy with the way he came out!

And then my Death Company Dreadnought I painted over 10 hours while in Austin at the con! He was awarded a Silver!

And finally I'm sure you all are familiar with my Templar bust which took a Gold!

Hope you all enjoy these!
Cheers!

I like it a lot. You got a good range of techniques there.

But I wouldn't use chipping effects on a cloak. It just looks weird . I remember that rackham painters used slight grey tones to draw lines across fabric to represent wear and tear. I think that would look more appropriate in this case as well.

I'm going to agree with Elmir, the chipping on a cloak, while it looks nice, does sort of look a little out of place.

The chipping on the armor though, I must say, looks well done, especially with the marine captain.

That Templar bust though. I love the amount of detail on this thing. Nice job!

My eye was drawn to the chipping on the cloak. I didn't realise cloth chipped
(And i'm sorry to be the 3rd person to point it out, but it really stood out for me).

But that templar is fantastic!

Thanks for the feedback on the cloak guys!
Was trying something different out with it. I'll keep playing with it till I get the look right!

Funny you mentioned Rackham. I have a very large collection of their models! Next years display circuit I plan on entering several! Including a Tarascus!

With your cloak have you tried chipping bits out and fraying the bottom, cleaning it up with green stuff, that would give a better we'll used look.

You're obviously very skilled, and your blends are awesome. You do need to work on your weathering, though. Your chips and scratches are too evenly spread and there are far too many of them. Also, as others have stated, the effect does not work on the cloth. Try to focus the chipping on edges and areas that would naturally see the most wear, like feet and knees, and try to have more variation in the size, shape and spacing of the scratches.
