I wanted to try out a dreadnought list, so I'm posting it up here to see what dakka thinks.

Hey,

I have fought against BA dread lists a lot lately and this certainly looks effective. What's the Librarian going to do? Can BA take Biomancy? Iron Arm libby running around would be fun in this dread list.

I was thinking about that...

and I don't really know.

I guess I could put him behind a hill and cast invisibility or something on the dreads...

A chappy in one of the death co units is not better than a libby but it does force your opponent to actually expend effort to get Slay the Warlord versus just hitting a lone libby with a drop pod storm bolter or something.

I think you need Astorath if you want to take more than 1 DC marine unit.

Seeing as DC cannot have objective secured anyway why not just go unbound?

Take some Libby furiosos for psykers and no need to spend points on 20 DC.

The DC dread is objective secured, but not the troops. Dread does not have 'the black rage'.

Agreed, however the OP's current list is spending 670 on DC and a HQ, to make the DC legal with astorath, its 795 points.

Just think how many Dreads they could have if they went unbound!

you could easily add another 4-6 depending on load-out.

And so are the pods.

Objective secured is just so OP... imho...so I wanted some dc dreads and pods and the dc rhinos are all objective secured.

And I updated the list.

You need 5 more DC to run 4 Death company dreads even in unbound you have to run 20 DC to run 4 DC dreads.

I have 20 points...not really sure what to do with it.

only question is where is Astorath going to go

in the rhino with the five man squad.

Astrorath is a jump infantry, he cannot go in the rhino
he can follow behind, and then join squad whenever they disembark, however

list seems funny, and i wish to try it (or something similar)
main problem is i have access to 5 dreadnought tops, lending someone from a friend... so i would need to change something :\

Well Astorath could ride in a Stormraven with them... but then you are down 1 dread and 60points-difference.

Maybe just do one big squad crossing the board... don't have to take astorath, and save points from rhinos...might even be able to get a land raider...oh wait, astorath couldn't go in there either.

Why not smash in as many of those delicious DC Dreads in as possible?

Lots of dakka, lots of choppy. Just footslog everything and see how it goes. Add/remove from there depending on how things perform.

Sounds fun...but would like some drop pods...could take out a fragnought for those...
