Hi, this is my first post on here so i'm a bit of a noob :p

Anyway, I've decided to do some experimenting with extreme highlights and was wondering if my highlights were a bit a too extreme

Thanks,

too backlit to tell. take them outside in the shade and try some more pics (preferably with some sort of light, mono-colored backdrop).

Try using an all white backdrop.

A closeup in random light doesn't really tell how they are going to look on a table.

When painting for tabletop, I like to check out the paint job by holding the mini away at an arms reach, and a couple of steps away from a bright light, to get the idea how they look in 'table lighting' aka ambient room light.

+1 for can't see :-p

From what I think I can make out you suffer from the same problem as me. The highlights are too thick but it's hard to tell. The window behind darkens everything else :-(
