Dakkites,
I have just dipped my toe into the 40k pond. I have a relatively loose understanding of the rules and strategies to run I just want to know if what I am doing is right. My club usually play 1850pts, apparently thats normal (?) so this is my first start. I used the rule of cool so with Necrons everything looks cool as balls! :
- Overlord, War Scythe, Resurrection Orb
- Overlord, War Scythe, Resurrection Orb
- Immortals (10), Gauss Blasters, Night Scythe w/ Lord attached
- Immortals (10), Gauss Blasters, Night Scythe w/ Lord attached
- Canoptek Wraiths (3), Whip Coils
- Canoptek Scarabs (10)
- Destroyers (4), Heavy Gauss Cannon (3)
- Doomsday Ark
- Annihilation Barge
- Annihilation Barge
- Deathmarks (10)
1850/1850
I ran it in my 1st game and it seemed alright, I guess I dont have alot of troops on the ground but is that a bad thing?

Tesla has been hurting me badly lately. I'd always give Immortals that, but your mileage may vary of course..
I think at 1850 you're okay. The model count seems appropriate for what you're trying to do. I've seen lists like this do great.

Thanks for the quick reply; Why would I trade Rapid Fire AP 5, for no Rapid Fire and No AP? seems like a no brainer

Hmm.. Tesla doesn't care about numbers, because it has the chance to make more shots at 24". An example is when you shoot at terminators with a 2+ save. They'll hate making more armor saves from Tesla and of course you will want to keep them at 24". A unit of 10 guys with 5+ saves will still be upset when you shoot them at Tesla, trust me there.. Additionally, anyone who cares about Ap5 weapons will probably be in cover anyway
I suppose if we wanted to make an argument that popping out of a Dedicated Transport Flier would be better suited for Rapid Fire weaponry, I can get on board with you there.. Tesla would probably be a bad idea if you can always get a good rapid fire off with Gauss.

The argument you made second time sounds good, but so does the Tesla rule, but its how reliable are the 6's

Twin linked Tesla is very likely to hit 6s and produce a ton of hits. Regular Tesla puts out about as many hits as Guass... the difference is distance (you have to get close for rapid fire. You don't want Necron infantry getting close to anything. Tesla keeps you far enough back that you don't have to worry about being charged.)
Regarding your list... from what you're taking, I'm gonna guess this is just for fun, right? (not a competitive situation, don't care too much if you lose).
If it IS supposed to be for a competitive situation, oh man, you're gonna need to make some changes if you want any chance of taking on serious players.

If you are running those together like that I would strongly consider Phaeroning the OLords. Probably working in the MSS/ SW and maybe even Phylactery as well. This will push the unit into a legitemate close quarters squad.
You're list also seems to be screaming for some Royal Court. A Veiltek for your Deathmarks, or two and split them in half. Haywireteks could go with your gauss immortals, as could Chronoteks if you tank up your overlord. I've seen two maxed out Immortal squads dropping out of NS like that do quite well, though. They bring enough fire power+ CC punch to threaten just about everything.
To make room for the RC I would pull from your FA a bit. HD/D combo units provide good saturation in Immortal lists. Wraiths are always nice, but you really need to commit to them if you want to see them get anywhere.
