One Mantic has done that they later retracted was to include a ruined "Games Workshop" sign on their terrain in the characteristic style during the kickstarter for their Mars Attacks game. The advertising folly bit comes in with them retracting it by shooping it out or removing the image (I forget) later in the campaign. First result for "Mars Attacks terrain" on google image search however:
