Baneblade the mother of all tanks and a dream to own but what variants actually exist of it? (I dont mean Shadowsword etc). I mean versions of the baneblade that exist in the fluff, sofar I know of 5.
1) The Baneblade from armorcast/White dwarf template.
2) The Baneblade that forgeworld did produce.
3) The GW plastic one.
4) A knock of version (Fluff about it WD first apoclypse release). This version was a second generation with worse armour, speed and the demolisher was replaced by a second battlecanon.
5) In the book "Baneblade" the crew is using a more advanced old baneblade with better tech (Horus hersey tech?).
So what more variants have you heard of and do you know anymore about 4 and 5?

Not sure about the question but correction; the Baneblade is not the 'mother of all tanks', you'll find that in the Horus Heresy the Baneblade was classified as a Light Battle Tank..
Also, in regards to the Horus Heresy improved tech, I imagine it's not a 'version', the technology is probably just phased out as it was lost, so an older Baneblade would have better tech etc.

#4 are classified as Macharius variation tanks; compare the stats and pts and you'll know why its 2nd edition, the plastic baneblade and its forgeworld versions are 'true' baneblades with ancient technology.

The Baneblade is not the mother of all tanks, if we're talking about lethality, that award belongs either to the Eldar or Necrons, certainly not the Imperium. Also as mentioned above, there were a lot more nastier tanks in the Horus Heresy that were bigger and meaner.

That really doesn't seem right, where did you get that from? If that's true, than what were the tanks that were less heavily armed and armoured than the Baneblade classed as? E.g. Predators, Malcador, Fellblade etc. I haven't read the Horus Heresy books so i don't know if it's actually true, but it sounds pretty silly if it is.
There aren't any larger or more heavily armed vehicles that were used during the Horus Heresy that I've heard of or seen mentioned by name anywhere, but even if there are that doesn't make the Baneblade a Light battle tank. Forgeworld describes the Fellblade as "Based upon the same STC data as the Baneblade and Deathhammer super-heavy tanks" so that suggests sven during the Heresy they were classed as Super-heavy.

Versions like A to J or the more recent A1 to A6 could be represented by patterns. ( Forgeworld it was made = pattern ). FW is doing this too. Their Tanks are classified as "arkurian" for example.
Remember: in 40k, there is not a 100% perfect copy of a galaxywide scheme what you get, just copies of copies used and things changed or left out if they couldn't make it.

The Arkurian pattern stuff is the GW plastic kit a + resin upgrade. FW used to sell two all-resin patterns of Baneblade: Mars and Lucius, IIRC the former was the true STC and the latter a knock-off copy.

Armorcast did TWO versions of the baneblade. I have their magazine that showed off the "improved, more detailed" one. Not counting the shadowsword.
The templates from WD
AT least TWO versions from FW (Max Weissman (?) has his custom one as well).
The GW plastic one.
That's 6+ by my count.
The apoc "worse version" was a macharius - also referred to as "baby baneblades".

I thought Macharius was consider a new tank not the worse version described in WD. Also is it only who thinks its sad that FW removed their versions of the Baneblade?
