Hey everyone, me and some friends just started up a youtube channel to start making some batreps. And our first video was Will trying out some things from the new Ork Codex, and he actually used a Stompa. I know it's a long video, sorry ahead of time. Feel free to let us know what you think.





Thank you to everyone who has left us feedback! We've made a follow up video, to try a more standard Ork list, and we shortened the video by a good bit more. Still long, but not AS long. Hope you guys enjoy.

Sorry, but that was really hard to watch. I mean i watched it, but I couldn't stand that ork player or his lack of rules knowledge, and the whole thing was just... boring i guess.

Well, how could we have not made it boring? We're taking as much feedback as we can. And you aren't the first one to mention something about the Ork player.

Uum really you were okay (assuming you were the necron player.) But i think that Ork dude just ruined it for me. That fellow with the long hair seemed to know his stuff so i would suggest doing one with him instead.

Not a bad effort really though, But another thing might be just doing summary's At the top and bottom of turns so that you can cut the video down to like half an hour or so. Aint nobody got time to watch someone count out their dice or explain to their opponent how many hull points a stompa has...

A lot of valid points, sir, thank you. Yeah, we were planning on cutting down the time a lot and doing turn summaries as well. And Steven (the long haired guy) will probably be in one of the next ones we do. He's our rule's guru essentially.

I watched the first 15 mins or so of the game, i skipped a lot of the intro because you were just talking to much. And tell the guy with the orks (he was called will, right?) to swap his stompa for the looted wagons (they got new rules, look them up) for killkannons, the 24" S7 AP something large blast is really effective when you want to reduce some crons to some molten slag.

I thought the Looted Wagons were removed?

By the way, watch some miniwargaming stuff. These guys reduce their vids to 45 mins as they only record key parts in the game e.g. Blood angels taking out stompa, big mek taking out warlord, etc.

I'm actually subscribed to them, I watch them all the time. But yeah, we're planning on shortening the videos, and doing turn summaries as well. This video was just our first attempt. =P

theres a WD that came out recently that put the rules for Looted Wagons back in the game.

But that's how stuff works now. It's back in a magazine so oficially all good to use it. Though, it's still underwhelming.

Yeah the biggest two things for me were the Ork player and the length. The guy narrating was doing a good job but the other player was obnoxious. I would suggest trying short player turn recaps for a few reasons. One reason being that it makes the video a lot shorter and two it makes the camera work easier. You can have on person shooting the other as they talk about their turn. You also don't have to film all the rolling and it makes the shooting a less wobbly.

Hmm, yes I suppose that is true. /but in all honesty, I've watched a lot of bat reps on youtube, and Miniwargaming is still by far my favorite, mainly because of the "banter" style bat rep. The others aren't really entertaining to me, which is why we wanted to go this way. But we are going to work on making them WAY shorter regardless, we just don't wanna miss some of the obnoxious dice rolls and things. We'll also be including turn summaries as well.

Like other have said, just use more Miniwargaming queues and you'll be fine. I love the real banter batreps by Dave but this was...not that. Lose the Ork guy or lock him away with a Rulebook and the Ork codex to learn his stuff.

Best of luck on future ones, I don't dare try the full length like you guys, I just stick to game turn recaps. Keeps my videos to 7-10 minutes max.

Yeah, we're working on shortening them, but not to 7-10 minutes. I actually prefer watching hour long battle reports, I feel you just get more into the game. And Will is learning more and more about his codex, so he'll get there eventually. =P
