This comes in at 1821 points. The idea is to have a (relatively) fluffy snakebite army that is just a green tide with a deathstar (the nob bikers) to harass the enemy early and draw fire away from the advancing boys. Formation lets me Waaagh! every turn, and if I'm lucky I can reroll my Ork warlord trait to Prophet of the Waagh! for a Fearless grot tarpit/screen.

But, are my non boyz elements enough? There isn't a TON of aircraft where I play, but I wanted a way to deal with it, and the kannons are a feeble attempt to provide some non-PK anti vehicle. I need six mobs no matter what; but would it be better for me to make some trukboyz? Reduce the PK invetment and make some nobs big choppas? Get a dakkajet? Any opinions would help, and I'd appreciate some of da older Bosses telling me what I might be doing wrong.

Hmm... I would drop the 2 powerklaws from the nob bikers, you will want cheapish ablative woulds with them.

Trukk boys can easily be dwindled to below 10, negating the advantages of using the green wave.

I would also drop the big grot unit down to 10 and upgrade your killsaw mek into a KFF big mek to give your footslogging boys some invul.

With your 80 pts left over from dropping the powerklaws I would grab a unit of 4 lobbas to blast any units hiding out of LOS or some lootaz for Anti armour/air.

Check out my White Skullz Orks mob. ~2500pts painted. Please vote!

First of all.. GREAT list. I dont know why I say that.. but it just makes me feel so good inside when I even see that many boyz WRITTEN on an army list.. I can only imagine the way it looks on the tabletop.

The traktor kannons and kannons are kinda reduddant. the TK are both anti tank AND anti flyer. maybe switch the kannons for some lobbas to soften the ranks a bit before your green ocean gets in close. or a nice, pop a transport with TK and then hit infantry with lobbas combo.

I quite like it. I'm running a similar horde formation, but all mine are 'ard boyz. Might wanna stick some 'eavy armour on your nobz and boss tho.

Dont they already have 4+ from the bike and 5+ FNP from painboy?

Only problem with TKs is they are skyfire, so snap shoot tanks. I do like the idea of lobbies to soften up enemy screens/bubble wrap. As for the KFF, I will consider it, but I figured 5+ cover from grots worked the same except vs ignores cover weapons: even then, one field will protect maybe one unit.

I agree with this.

Its a Mek not a Big Mek, they can't have KFF's.

Lootas are not a bad idea. But they are rather expensive. Might have to drop a bit more to get them.

I feel like if you're going for the Death Star thing, wouldn't it be better to just run MANZ with a MA boss for the 2 reroll able save. Rather than 5 bikes, I think you'd have more nobs that way. Just a thought. Could add a battle wagon for them

I also noticed that you have 3 HQ's for your CAD. might have to change that.

Can you rightly call a few Nobs a Deathstar? At best they are equal to a MANZ Missle.

Not to sound rude, but unless they are slamming themselves head first into a tank, they will be slaughtered whole sale. Then only if your opponent doesn't notice them being the only things that aren't Boyz.

I disagree, Green tide is boring to me. Way to much to move and you are doing nothing for 2 turns for the most part. Depending on what the other players does or has.

I do agree a unit of 5 bikes does not make a deathstar. especially a 300 + point unit.

I need to include a unit of Nobs in order to use the formation. I have had bad experience with Meganobz in the past (they tend to die to monstrous creatures easily, and I play a lot of Nid players), and against most everything else I generally feel like a good number of boyz with a hidden PK just does a better job.

So it's that or bikes, unless I want to lose my mind and footslog them. The nob bikers were only included as a way to get /something/ to the enemy to draw their shooting for a turn or two while the boyz move up. Without some kind of distraction, my mobs are going to get shot to pieces, regardless of cover or KFFs or painboys.

Have you thought about doing the list as CAD's instead of the formation and a CAD?

You would only lose one squad of boys or the squad of Grots. But it would open up more HQ's.

Just a thought.

Only when moving flat out.

Bikes have a 4+ save and a 5+ FNP if a Painboy is attached. They get a 3+ save if they Jink during the enemies shooting phase. But then they have to snap fire when they shoot.

ah yes you're completely right, and they get 3+ now if going flat out right? (+1 to armour save)

I should really use bikes more, they seem great

Nope, you don't have to move flat out to Jink anymore. you just have to choose to Jink before they shoot you. Then you just snap shot next turn for shooting,

I meant the smoke cover thing, that's on moving flat out right?
