What:Kings of War charity campaign day
Where: The Grid, Doncaster
When: 23rd August 2014
Dark tidings have reached the inhabitants of East Vantoria, a shipping and commercial island in the Infant Sea. Aiming to wrestle control of the island, a coalition of Evil armies have launched a major invasion fleet in the east and are bearing down on this vital island.
Sources believe that the Evil coalition aims to stab at the heart of the Kingdoms of Men, and wish to use East Vantoria as a staging ground to do so. Such an invasion would cast a shadow across the West for many races, including Elves and Dwarfs.
Desperate to stop such a calamity, the forces of Good have formed a coalition of their own. With both sides landing huge numbers of troops on the island, the war for East Vantoria is about to begin.
The Vantorian Onslaught is a friendly one day map based campaign event being run in support of
#WAAC (Wargamers All Against Cancer). The day will consist of 5 1000 point unique scenarios where two teams of players will fight for territories and ultimate control of East Vantoria.
All proceeds from the day will go towards
Macmillan Cancer Support.
Tickets
Tickets cost £10 but do not include lunch - though The Grid provides hot meals, snacks and there is a Tesco 5 minutes walk away.

The Venue
The Grid is Doncasters latest gaming hangout, sporting up to 36 tables for games of any variety! There is ample parking around The Grid and it is a 10 minute walk from Doncaster train station.

Prizes
This is a friendly event rather than a flat out competitive event. Instead of issuing prizes to the best players, everyone who partakes in the event will receive a Mantic goody bag worth at least £10 - more than making up the ticket price!
Scenarios
The Vantorian Onslaught will be using unique scenarios, rather than those given in the book. Players will choose from one of three battle stances before the game - Offensive, Defensive or Balanced and will draw an objective card from the relevant deck. This will determine what their objective will be. Not only will you have a unique objective to achieve, including unique special rules to benefit your army, but your opponent will have a different objective for you to try and foil!

After being rocked by the news my mum has cancer the nurses for Macmillan have been amazing, truly amazing and I want to give back to them, even while they support my parents.
So I want to do 24 hours of wargaming to raise money for them but I want it to be a country wide event the gaming community is a great one, so I am looking at getting as many people involved.
So please donate but make sure you are having fun and playing as well!!

WAAC is a wargaming event being held up and down the country on 23rd August and I'm pleased to announce that all proceeds will be going to Macmillan as part of that.
Players can also buy "Lady Luck" dice between game rounds for 50p each. These are a one-use dice and entitle the player to re-roll any one dice of their choice - including their opponents!
