I had this thought that a SM command squad with flamers, and perhaps a pyromancy librarian, would be very useful in a drop pod versus summoning daemons. Do they have a place in an all-comers list? 'Cause right now I'm almost certainly gonna take a comman squad with meltas, and a divination librarian, to bolster my power against superheavies at the BAO. Thoughts?

Beyond the obvious advice of "take Salamander chapter tactics", I think it's entirely viable but there may be better options.

Ironclad Dreadnought in a pod with dual heavy flamer is going to be nastier against a wider variety of targets and potentially more durable.

On the other side, a five man assault squad with dual flamers and a free drop pod will be a cheaper option.

I'm using the Minotaur Chapter tactics with Lord Moloc. I want to win, but I'm fluffy too.

Good points here.
