At what cost would the Daemon Lords be a good choice?
An'ggrath: 650?
Aetaos'Rau'Keres: 800? 750?
Zarakynel: 450?
Scabeiathrax: 550?

Finally found my quote from a gym buddy born and raised in South Korea:
"It is the soldier, not the reporter who has given us the freedom of the press.
"It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us the freedom of speech.
"It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who gives us the freedom to demonstrate.
"It is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin is draped by the flag, who allows the protester to burn the flag." |

And what would be your justification for these changes?

They suck due to being more expensive than Warhounds.
It's well known they're hideously overpriced.

They are intentionally over priced to fit with their Gods holy number. Was that not like...super obvious? Or did you honestly think they priced it out and though ''Hmm, 999pts seems fair''?
IF they were priced correctly, I'd agree they are a bit steep, but they are not. They were Intentionally priced that way for fluff justified reasons, E.G if you change them then you are basically saying ''Winning is more important then fluff'' and screwing over the flavor the Forgeworld team gave them to fit in with your ludicrous theory of ''It MUST have the same ability as either a War Hound, Emperor Titian or Transcendent C'Tan or it's not powerful enough''.
The price is just as much a part of their flavor as there rules in this case, and to over rule that to save, what, 200pts(?) in an apocalypse game is just a bad way to go about playing a game.

I agree, to a degree, that 40k is best played as a casual/fluffy game, and back when I played a mono-nurgle army, I did everything in multiples of 7, tried to field multiples of 7 units, etc., but points costs are such an extremely abstracted idea that have no real connection to fluff. For instance, if we want to talk about fluff, Marines should cost like 10x guardsmen at a conservative estimate.
I believe in taking fluffy stuff, but not if it means shooting yourself in the foot over it- I'd much prefer to see fluffy stuff adjusted to a reasonable cost over an extremely fluffy unit that is so poorly balanced that there's no reason to take it.
