Do you think deep striking a riptide, given that the battlefield would allow this to be safely accomplished, would be a good idea? Do you think having rear armor will negate the affects of losing a turn (or more) of shooting?

Maybe situationally, but 95% of the time I would say no, as deep striking behind a vehicle will likely be a high risk if misshaping or even coming in late to make the risk worth it.

Only do it if you're got a Positioning Beacon in place.

There is no point doing so.

The riptide has long enough range to operate mostly from turn 1, and the toughness to take alot of punishment, and does not need to deepstrike in order to get into range safely.

If you want to hit rear armor, you want crisis suits with fusion blasters. they are better anti-tank, easier to DS and overall superior in the job. and at any other job, you don't DS your riptide.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Even the HBC has near-table range since this guy can stand in the middle of the battlefield with little to no fear of pain. And if he does utilize his jetpacks to get behind walls if you cant hit your target from behind said wall.

Also he has such a huge footprint, about the size of a fully loaded crisis team with drones, hes at risk of mishap without a beacon.

Generally no, even if you have a positioning beacon in place. The Riptide has the range, mobility and height to be able to effectively shoot at opponents from his side of the table. There's not really any advantage to deep striking it... crisis suits /w fusion guns are a better choice for killing vehicles, for example. Deep Striking close to the enemy also enables them to tarpit you in close combat, which will sometimes tie up a Riptide for several turns (negating it's shooting).

There has only been a single time in which case I should have deep struck in Riptides.

It was a rather odd tournament that let in a single IG armored company list in and manged to fit in two of the Beast Hunter shell tanks and battle cannons everywhere else and I was going 2nd. Only time I have ever thought "should have held them in reserves."

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."
