England

Probably a stupid question but this is the fastest place to find clarification.

Da Lucky Stikk rules as written:
"All models in the bearer's unit add +1 to the Weapon Skill characteristic on their profile (this is not culmulative with the bonus from a Waaagh! Banner)."

So...does this include the bearer? 'All models in his unit' is a bit ambiguous, I assume he gets the bonus too?

It is not in the least ambiguous. Yes he gets the +1ws

You know, this is relevant...

FNP from Painboys seems to be worded the same way...

And you can take Cybork armor on them...

Is this coincidental?

Don't see the point of the upgrade / gear at all.

Or it is for those people who have modelled cyborks, to continue to have a reason for it.

GW often give you non-sensical rules to suit the model, e.g. mastercrafting weapons that already reroll to hit.

Have a reason for it?

Cybork body gives the Painboy 6+ FNP.

Painboys have 5+ FNP.

Cybork body COSTS POINTS.

I don't see it as a Salamander doctrine type of thing.

Guess you missed the part where I said the rules can be non-sensical stand-alone, but suited to either fluff (Mad Dok has cybork and is a painboy, but it makes FLUFF sense for him to have cybork) or simply modelling options that existed previously.

For example people who had a MDG army with a nob-painboy wioth cybork may want to continue to use that model as wysiwyg, so will pay for it.

I am fully aware of the rules surrounding cybork, and thought I made that perfectly clear with the analogy of master-crafting a weapon (graning a single reroll) to a weapon that already rerolls to hit.

Without trying to sound rude..

You clearly did not read that I was stating that there is a clear discernment between a FREE upgrade for fluff and one that HAS A POINTS COST

Not trying to be rude, but you missed the PAID upgrade of mastercrafting on a weapon that already rerolls to hit, or their bearer does. Read Grey Knights

What does NONSENSICAL mean to you? To me it means "doesnt make sense". Standalone, rules POV only, cybork on a painboy makes no sense. I already covered that, twice.

No you said it makes sense.

Nonsensical would be the opposite of what you have been saying.

Your point that you are trying to make is that it DOES MAKE SENSE for them to have an option so that they can use their wysiwyg models.

The point that I am trying to make is that it DOES NOT MAKE SENSE for that particular redundant upgrade to cost points.

Grey Knights can take the upgrade on units that can reroll one to hit or all, in all phases of combat? Specific example of redundant upgrade?

Redundant points costs are everywhere, if you look for them. Here's an example: Warboss in Mega Armour. He just gets a Power Klaw as a part of the Mega Armour upgrade. Now he can pick from a melee weapon from the list... hey look there's the power klaw for 25 points that he can purchase by trading in... his power klaw!

The power klaw is in the list to be available to all of the units to access said list.

That is not necessarily a good example...

Sigh

I said it was nonsensical *from a rules* standpoint to have that option

It makes sense from a fluff perspective, or to keep wysiwyg.

Grey Knights can purchase a MC close combat weapon on a character that rerolls all to-hit rolls. (or digital weapons on a model that already rerolls to wound - one of the two)

GK Brotherhood Champions can reroll all failed To Wound in CC. They can buy Digital Weapons for 5 points which gives them the ability to reroll a single failed To Wound roll in the assault phase.

Knew it was one of the two - touted at the time as irrelevant, still is non-sensical from a rules perspective, but could be cool if you wanted to model it

Actually, it's a perfect example because that's exactly why Painboyz have the option to purchase Cybork. It's in the Know-wots list which is available to all HQ units.
