Hey Dakka,
Whenever I look at a shokk attack gun I think how fun it must be to play. I was wondering if it was as good as it seems, and what it's main strength is (heavy infantry, vehicles, etc.) This is a very random and Orky unit that looks very fun to play and I'd appreciate some tips for using it well.

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).

Probably Terminators and things like them would be your best bet.

The unreliable strength means that it's not very good for taking out armor, but even if you roll simply average 4s / 5s and such when shooting at termies and the like that is more than enough to wound and you bypass the armor.

Pretty much all kinds of infantry. It is nice for Terminators, marines, Dev squads hid up on a building that you don't like.

Im usually firing it at things with an armor save, or got bunched up too much. Even lousy strength typically wounds on a 4+/3+ and pens their armor, leaving any invul or cover save (if any) left to save them. If i get boxcars, cool, but im not banking my game on it lol.

I never fire it at tanks, despite being Ordnance, because i know the ONE TIME i fire it at a tank im either going to ZOINK right to it, blow myself up, or roll S3-5 and cant hurt it lol.

Have to admit, i am in LOVE with the new boxcar result rules. Severely helps the way i fire that thing, as Vortex pi plate scattering on the opponents side of the board sounds uber tasty since it has the potential to shift over to a target i normally wouldnt fire at but would love to wreck.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.
