If there is anybody who is willing to play 40K with me, I have some days off coming up on next Sunday and Monday. I would prefer to meet at the local GW store, but I am willing to meet anywhere else if required. Please let me know if anybody is interested.

I mainly live in Beaverton. The only reason why I mention the GW shop is due to the many positive experiences that I have had in that store. As long as I can get to such a venue via public transportation, I do not mind going to such a destination.

It's a bit of a jaunt (40 mins or so) to Salem's Borderlands Games, but it's an awesome store

Most of the regulars and/or the owners are generally happy to teach newbies, especially since we are ALL newbies to 7th

What days does that store play 40K? I can always give them a call to find out as well.

I have played there before back in 5th edition, but I choose not to go there out of the fact that they charge for the use of their tables. Even though the price for such usage is reasonable and I respect that a store has to stay in business in some way, the fee alone is what keeps me away from the store.

@Ascalam: I will have to check out the store some time this upcoming Monday.

This Saturday is a grand reopening event also, with a 30 percent off one item flyer. I'll be there buying more plastic crack, you can be sure

I have played there a few times at rainy day but they have never charged for it.

I called them once when it was only a couple of days before the release of 7th edition. They told me that there was a minimum fee of $2.50 to use their tables or I have to buy any GW product worth $20.00 or more.

@Ascalam - It's too bad that I will be working for the vast majority of the day and I am currently out of money until I get paid next week. However, I will look up the address of the store and I will attempt to come by next Monday. I will bring all of what I can reasonably transport in regards to my army, but I can assure you that I can be seen with a lot of cases when I visit a hobby store.

@SoulSkull:

A couple things:

1) Go to ordofanaticus.com and sign up. That's a local board that covers the PNW. You'll find a lot of helpful information about the numerous stores in Portland and can probably find a game.
2) Guardian games has a Wednesday league which is a lot of fun and caters to everyone from starting players to hardened tournament heads. Also, beer! They also have tables at other times as well.
3) Depending on where you are, there are a ton of stores near you. I'm guessing east side (since you mentioned the GW) so Red Castle, Nexus and Comics Collectibles are closer to you than even Guardian.

I have the same screen name on Ordo and here, so feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

It's Rainy Day's "No Pants, No Service" rule that really keeps me away.

I haven't been there since like 8 or 9 years ago. I also remember (whether factual or not) some 'Ard boyz shenanigans. Either way, it's way out there and not my cup of tea.
