Sorry if I do not recreate the scenario exactly. This was my first time playing Necrons and the amount of special rules they stated was staggering.
Using a special rule where he had his deathmarks immediately deep strike next to one of my units(during my turn, when I was deep striking) .
Who shoots first ? He stated his deathmarks shoot during my turn before I do.

AKAIK, the Hunters from Hyperspace simply lets them arrive in your turn, they still can't shoot until their own turn.

Their rule does not give them a exception to shoot. It is your turn. It was generally accepted that they only fire on their owners turn.

Well that explains a lot. He rapid fire shot down a unit of 10 Noise Marines. Which turned the game right away.

Another Necron question: Can gaze of death go off if the C'Tan was killed in combat?

Does the model exist on the battlefield at that point?

Nope he does not. I was playing a Necron player for the first time. So I do not know their Codex. But it was a learning experience for me. I have since taken a look at their codex.

If you think something is funky about a model's special rules kindly ask to see the rule and read for yourself. Make sure to read the whole thing about it so there is no misunderstanding. It might make the game take a little bit longer but well worth it in the end

It's easy to assume that people arguing an interpretation you disagree with are just looking for an advantage for themselves... But it's quite often not the case. |

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

It sounds like the player is confusing ethereal interception as interceptor aswell.
However, ethereal interception merely allows you to deploy your deathmarks from reserves immediately after an enemy model has arrived via deep strike.
