I just introduced myself in the forums, but I'm trying to feel out what models to start buying for my Deldar army. This is my general idea right now, but please feel free to rip it apart brutally. The dark eldar wouldn't want you to be gentle:

Ok

personally i neve rtake wytches for a general list but more a fun list.

here it is take as much venoms as possible if not
take a raider whit splinterrack and kabalite.
If you do insist on wyches take 1 raider with duke slisuc for the drugs put him in with kabalites and lose the archon. duke gives poison 3plus to a unit of kabalites and you can reroll for drugs

i never play the archon myself

It's not a bad start. Most people run Wyches in Venoms with Haywire if they run them at all, and Warriors in or with Raiders (a lot of people keep their Warrirors out of them though).

I haven't seen a lot of Hellions in some time, although they got a lot of play when the Dex dropped. At least one unit with the Baron isn't a bad play. I would recommend splitting the other unit up though. More targets could help.

I like running one unit of Scourges with 4 Heat Lances and a decked out character, blaster pistol/poison weapon or something like that. People don't expect you to be overly aggressive with Scourges, but with all assault weapons and I 5 you can pick on weaker units with these guys, and getting into CC can save them from incoming shooting for a turn. You need to get a PT with them ASAP though. And try to use their mobility to keep them out of LOS as much as possible.

The Twilight Zone

It is really not that bad.

The baron+hellion blob is good, but 2 squads of hellions is a bit much. The stunclaw is OK, but you are best off with the freebie venom blade.

Consider running the duke over your archon. Even without a squad of kabbies, he is more or less tricked out like your con with some sweet bonuses like drug re rolls, which are great for wytches and hellions.

Wytches are not that good, best for haywiring tanks, so 5 in a venom will do. 9 to escort a character is not bad, but I would cut the other squad or swap for kabbies.

Scourges in a 10 man unit are a bit overkill, that said 4 haywire blasters will pretty reliably end any tank you shoot at. You need the AT bad enough that you should not take splinter cannons-your list can put out enough splinter as it. Either more haywire blasters, heat lances or blasters as you can afford.

I'm starting to realize how bad wyches are. The warriors are most likley going to make it on to my list, but should i splurge for the trueborns? Also what about bloodbrides?

Bloodbrides are really used, although being able to take 3 Shards to support a beat-stick has some uses. People use Trueborn to fill out anti tank a lot. 2 with Dark Lances and an ablative, or packs of 3 or more with blasters in Venoms. People will generally roll out a Venom with each unit, even if they don't plan on using it transport capabilities.

I've always wanted to run 9 Trueborn with Shardcarbines as a Duke unit. Or 8 with Duke and Vect in the Pimp Mobile lol.

Any thoughts on beastmasters? Would it be worth it fill up fast attack slots with them? Razorwing blobs seem rather amazing...

Wytches are not terrible, they just have a limited role. Shadar covered trueborn/bloodbrides pretty well.

Beasts are fantastic, and the baron is a great compliment to beasts. You only need a few razorwings for damage, otherwise just stock khymerae as bullet sponges.

What's the value in a 2HP Venom when a 3HP Raider w/ Dark Lance is just 5 more points?

It has a built-in Flickerfield (5++ save) and a single Splinter Cannon. Take another one for +10 pts. and you've got 12 Poison (4+) AP5 shots with BS 4 and 36" range. It may also move 12" and fire both Cannons at full BS, which means it's an excellent infantry killer.
