First things first, this is the first list I have ever made, so please be gentle . I'm making a list for my boyz that is centered around a Green Tide and Foot Sloggin' army. I figured a 500 point army is a good place to start. So mainly, I would like to see what you guys think of my list. At the moment, I'm using a 6th edition app to make my list (I haven't bought the 7th ed. codex yet. It, and the new Rule Book, will be my next purchases). My main questions would be:

A) Is this list legal? I guess legal in both 6th and 7th editions? That way I can play against both editions.
B) Is this list any good/competitive at a 500 pt. level? I mainly plan on playing with friends, but it may be nice to play at my FLGS now and then.
C) Is my math/point total right? Math has never been my strong point, and I don't have any books with me at the moment...solely basing this list on BattleScribe at this time.

Without further ado, I present...Clan Bloodmaw: The Blood WAAAGH!!!

HQ
Warboss: Warlord, Slugga, Stikkbombz, Power Klaw, Bosspole, Attack Squig.
Total = 105 pts.

Troops
Ork Boyz: Boyz x9 (Shoota)
Nob (Boss Pole, Power Klaw, Slugga)
Boy w/ Big Shoota x1
Total = 111 pts

Ork Boyz: Boyz x9 (Shoota)
Nob (Boss Pole, Power Klaw, Slugga)
Boy w/ Big Shoota x1
Total = 111 pts

Ork Boyz: Boyz x9 (Shoota)
Nob (Boss Pole, Power Klaw, Slugga)
Boy w/ Big Shoota x1
Total = 111 pts

Ork Boyz: Boyz x10 (Shoota)
***Unit will be with Warboss, who has Boss Pole***
Total = 60 pts

This puts me at a grand total of 498 pts. I know there's nothing special, fancy, or jaw dropping about it, but that's a decent bit of models for a 500 pt game...I would think.
What do you guys think? I'd love to hear any suggestions/changes you guys may have. I'd like to avoid vehicles if I can, since at a 500 pt max, they seem like they would
just gobble up points. Thanks everyone .

In the new edition, the rokkit upgrade costs the same as the big Shoota upgrade. Maybe get that once or twice just in case your opponent has a tank at 500 points.

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).
Keep on rolling

Really need to get the new codex, a lot of point changes. Your list is more expensive in the new codex, so it will have to be altered a bit. Also, if youre running all shoota boyz, may just want to take a weird boy for the long range blasting power, he'd be a bunch cheaper for than your warboss. Witbout telling you the exact points (Dakka Rules) your same list with a weirdboy comes out at 485, while with your boss build it would come out at 520. The new attack squig also only lets you reroll one attack per turn. The new codex offers much better of a build than the old one. Happy building.

I'll probably buy the new codex and rulebook this Friday. I was thinking on using the weird boy, but I heard he wasn't too good of a choice. That was all in 6th edition though. Did they make changes with him in 7th? What about as far as not having any CC? Should I get some slugga and choppa boyz in on the action? Does this list work as a 6th edition list, as far as legality goes?

Small squads of boyz will just kill themselves with the new mob rule. Either get squads of 20+ or make them 'ard boyz.

Note that horde works in 7 ed even worse than in 6 - and they were weak back there too. When you're playing at 500 pts you just don't have enough stuff to sit on points or something fast to cap them. You just footslog forwards doing nothing significant on the way there. With maelstorm missions you'll just almost 100% loose unless you table the enemy, which you won't cause you're too slow.

If you want to win some games with orkses from time to time, go around 1k pts at least and field something fast like buggies, wagonz, bikers. At 1k you can have those 2 squads of footsloggas and get fast stuff either. Or don't play maelstorm - will work too.

On your list:
You have too many pks and too few boyz. It's too easy to loose those 50 pt nobz when there are just a couple boyz around. Thus, if you're running footsloggas, i'd suggest getting at least 1 painboy. Add in mekboyz in each squad to eat a challenge.

Boss, Painboy, 2 squads of ~20 boyz with pk nob, 2 mekboyz. This will fit the horde theme well and will probably be fine for 500 pts if you don't play maelstorm.
