I got this figure on Ebay. But he seems kinda strange. Is this a 40k confessor ? An older OOP perhaps ? I don't recognize the gun at all. If it is 40k , what is the gun ? If it is 40k , what's the story on this figure ?

Also, in "Hammer and Anvil, on page 139 it says , " The Hospitaler looked up........she absently fingered the hem of her robes, earth-brown with green-gold trim in the signature colors of the Order of Serenity ."
what the heck is green-gold ? The author James Swallow is English, and I know British english varies from American English so.........
I can't imagine gold with a green tinge . So does he mean , perhaps, a bright, light, green color ?
Anyone know a source for the livery colors of the hospitaller Chapters ?

One more thing ; in that same book the sisters use a long-bodied Vernator, no heavy guns on it, that carries a squad of sisters. Anyone made such a model, with pictures ?

He looks more like a pirate than a Confessor. I don't recognize it though.

As for the green gold, maybe it means one of those two tone green things? or a two-coloured trim?

And the only Venator I know is in Forgeworld. Not too sure if that's the correct one.

Mabe the author just thought up a variant of it. Certainly looks like a desert vehicle.

Green-gold is one of those colours that I can easily picture but can't really explain... Think a soft, pale gold as opposed to a strong and shiny one.

That model is an old OOP Necromunda Special Character for the Redemptionists called the Arch Zealot. Armed with a Flamer.

thanks all for the help. All useful replies

@ Milkboy --- yeah, I know that model . that's certainly it, but with the gun mount, certainly no use as a transport. I doubt GW or FW would make a 3rd variant --- except, on the other hand, in some contexts a wheeled vehicle is preferable to a tracked vehicle , and even armies need cars ; i.e.. Jeeps, Kubelwagens, Hummvies, except that's real life, not necessarily applicable to game rules context. --- Except who gets into sisters of battle ONLY to play the game ? Considering how important James Swallow's " Faith and Fire " and " Hammer and Anvil " must be to Sisters of battle fans, I'm surprised nobody has kitbashed the simple transport Vernator from the book ( which just happens to carry 6 sisters in the book ) . Remove the gun mount, build a rectangular box around the rear, slap on some doors.

@ Paradigm -- Yep, I figured it was British-English versus American-English . I've run into Green-gold before.

@ Peredyne --- Necromunda ? I had never looked into that , except to conclude it didn't appeal to me and then moved on to other things . The Redemptionists gang though would make great Frateris Militia stand-ins. The actual Frateris Militia figures I've seen are boring and generally blah. But the Necromunda Redemptionists ? Perfect !

Good luck finding the Redemptionist models. Especially the first edition models. The second edition with the separate hand and head sprues were righteous. You're right in how blah the old frateris militia were. If I were going to do the FM now, I would get a bunch of the chaos cultists and remove the chaos icons, probably replace them with etched brass imperial icons and Grey Knight decorative bits. I would also swap the heads for either Brettonian/Empire heads or convert conical sackcloth heads from dark elf warrior heads.
