Hi all,

recently picked up the Malifaux game and due to have my first game this weekend.

We are playing a 40SS game and i have come up with the following list, would like some feedback if possible. I am going to find one more upgrade to stick on the Mature Nephilim i think to total the full 40 soulstones.

39/40SS

Lilith - Wicked Mistress, Beckon Malifaux
Barbaros - Rapid Growth
Cherub
Mature Nephilim
Terror Tot
Terror Tot
Terror Tot

Any thoughts?

Am i correct in thinking that Liliths cache goes into the SS pool meaning I'd have five Soulstones left over if I ran this list? (1 remaining SS + Lilith cache of 4 = 5SS)

Cheers

I wish I could offer some advice, but I'm very new to the game myself (and my Neverborn are Pandora-based). Good luck, and let us know what you think!

This is correct.

Personally, I hate going into games without some more guns (either a couple okay guys or one strong one), so I might try to find some room for that, but I expect that list should hit pretty hard as-is, so might not need it.

edit: having never played as lilith, I'm not sure how much her movement shenanigans compensate for having fewer guns, so my advice might be less relevant in this composition

You'd be hard pressed to find good ranged support in a Neverborn list outside of taking Tuco, a mercenary (Convict Gunslingers or Hans), or Lucius as your master (Guild Riflemen + Teddies = Win!).

Putting Rapid Growth on Barbaros is a very popular idea as he will be in the fray to hand out the buffs.
Terror Tots are incredibly fast.
The Mature Nephilim is kind of a point sink though. Maybe sub him out for Nekima (since you'll be making at least one Mature Nephilim during your game, hopefully), a Black Blood Shaman (faster growth), or some Young Nephilim to speed up the growth process.

Yep, Confict gunslingers and hans are pretty solid, and I pretty regularly field one of them if I only have points for one gunner (and am not playing guild of course)

One thing to add.

If you keep going with Malifaux and want to expand your Neverborn, get a couple other masters you like and models like the Teddy, Black Blood Shaman, Nekima, Primordial Magic, and anything else you want.

You should work on moving away from building your lists before a game, because your list should always match the schemes you are going for.

Thanks for the advice guys really appreciate it.

Yeh I spoke to my friend and he also said to decide on my list once schemes are chosen aswell.

Pre-game list building is a habit from playing 40k

Yep, I tend to go into a scenario with maybe 1/3-1/2 my list planned out with core minis that work well with my master or that I want to try together, and then build the rest based on who I'm fighting/what scenario it is/etc.
