I Personally, havent played much with any form of Sorcerer as im strictly a Khornate player, and as such im not particularly fond of Psykers.. HOWEVER (Khorne Forgive me) i have decided to disobay my lord and test it and im actually finding that TELEPATHY is my 'go to' Discipline and i have no issue just sticking with Psychic Shriek.. I find it is pretty fun especially when your on a bike and can get into that 12" range pretty quickly, i imagine its akin to a car driving past you slowly, blaring Justin Beiber..

What is your favored discipline (outwith the ones related to specific marks)

Honestly? Sanctic daemonology is amazing. You can pass most results with one dice and a familiar, and nearly all of them are great.

It's 18" Same here, I like Telepathy due to Psychic Shriek. It's fun on Ahriman in a unit providing some ablative wounds. The combination of really threatening 18" shooty stuff and not too shabby close combat threat on Termi armor worked well in some games. Some opponents didn't really know if they should shoot the unit or cc it. With mastery 4 the chance to get Invisibility is pretty high and this will further unsettle your opponent whether to assault or to get further shot at with shriek.

Ahriman still needs to take a level a Tzeentch power though right so only 3 chances of picking up invisibility.

Are you sure Psychic Shriek is 18"? ive always played it as 12".. My friend told me it was 12" anyways, if hes lied to me Khorne help him..

but yes those auto wounds cause people nightmares > Ive NEVER used Ahriman, and most other players i speak to who use Sorcerers use Biomancy, which ive yet to use.

Nurgle sorceror in terminator armor with mastery level 3 and a familiar. Cause it's Nurgle. Throw some biomancy in there, add him to a blob of cultists, and have a terrible smelling blast as you wade deep into the enemy, invincible and destroying IC in challenges.

I think the 6th edition shriek was 12, Murinius. The seem to have tweaked a lot of the powers like that. Either buffed them or nerfed them by giving them different ranges, etc.

Until they kill a few cultists and sweep the lot of em O_o. This has happened to me too many times so I never have a sorc leading cultists anymore. My go to is ML3 all on telep with spell familiar and maybe a sigil. Anything more I think is a waste especially marks which you pay points to have worse powers.

You can counteract it by taking a Helcult (giving the cultists fearless/zealot). If I'm going for a nurgle sorc I'd probably go with a palaquin instead since it doubles their wounds. But I prefer to keep them unmarked, give them a bike and run them with spawn.

I ran my Level 3 psyker with termy armor, power staff, unmarked in a squad of 2x MoN Oblits. Worked out well. Rolled on Divination and Telepathy with the artifact from Crimson slaughter.

I run a Tzeentch terminator sorcerer level 2 or 3 with the bale-star of mammon relic from crimson slaughter.
With Tz marked sorcerers it's go big or go home. Their power's aren't the best but i personally love boon as my sorcerer is always in a unit with another character.
I would always take whatever i roll rather than the primaris. Other than the have to take's it's divination all the way for me. And always a familiar, always.

As of 7th edition Pyromancy has become my new favorite for sorcerers without an invuln save as it has two spells that give the mage a 4++ cover or invuln save as well as some very nice witchfires.

The tree just has a lot of synergy, using fiery form as a supporting spell that allows you to reroll to wound rolls for your awesome large blast or template witchfires and all.

Good defense, good utility, good offense. Just a lot of wasted points if you already have a 4++ save like ahriman

Otherwise Satanic Daemonology is pretty awesome between vortex of doom and gate of infinity and hammerhand

Biomancy is always cool too!

Telekinesis seems to be a bit underrated. Levitation seems great.

Telepathy I think is overrated, as is divination.

I'm a fan of Sanctic and Daemonology , something about giving my Terminator Squads +2 STR makes me happy or giving them a +1 invulnerable. Or teleporting around.

I also like Malefic.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

I've used Biomancy with a lot of success - you can't really object to spells that make it harder to kill your own units, and some of the offensive ones are also very useful. In addition the high proportion of blessings makes it harder for enemy dispels to stop your casting.

+1 on the Biomancy, great mix of offensive and blessing spells.

Just a quick question - if a ML3 marked chaos sorcerer (or DP) gets the primaris of his chaos god for free does he still get to roll 3 spells on other tables? Or does the free primaris count as one of his MLs??

Either Biomancy or Telepathy. Depends on what his role is for the game. I never give him a mark either, so he gets four from the table.

I am pretty sure she you still need to roll at least 1 on that god's powers, then rest anywhere else.

Yes, it's exactly like this. The exact wording is that he needs to generate at least one power from his god's table. So if you get the Primaris for free you haven't generated a power and thus still have to roll once on that table at least.
