What are the firing arcs for lasguns on the chimera? 90 degrees or 180 degrees?

RAW im not sure if they are classed as hull mounted or not.

RAI they are meant to represent the guys inside firing them and thus can target units other than the chimera itself.

To represent this i would give them a LOS arc of 90 degrees (45 degree's to the left and right of the actual gun mount).

They don't have a rules-defined arc, and so their arc is whatever the weapon physically moves through.

As insaniak has said, it would be anything you could point the gun at, as long as you didn't glue them

If glued, at least there are Rules allowing us to treat them as if they where not glued.

Can you point the gun at it? If so you can shoot it. If you can't move the gun, pg 74, base book, last sentence. You get 45 degrees both horizontally and vertically

The lasguns on my chimera can rotate 360. Does that mean I can fire 360?

I can see that there is no correct answer to this question, until GW comes out with a FAQ to answer it. I won't hold my breath for it.

No they can't. Not on a normal Chimera body. There's a little thing called "The Hull" that gets in the way.

"The Hull" can get in the way of the turret if the model in behind the Chimera, but it still gets to shoot it. ;P

I'm just saying the arc of the lasguns can be greater than some are saying is a 90 degree and I will admit that 360 is too much. Is 180 good enough? Or is that still too much? I was playing it 180 per side but my llast oppenent saiid that was too big.

No, no it can't. If the hull blocks LoS, it blocks LoS.

I'm saying that the arc is how far you can move the guns. Which is what others are saying.

Actually if the hull gets in the way of the turret, then it can not shoot as it doesn't have line of sight. As has been stated, the arc on the lasguns on the Chimera are what they are physically able to face.

Sure can't, and if your vehicle had sponsons, and suffered a Weapon Destroyed result on one of your sponsons, your other sponson cannot shoot through the hull at models on the opposite side of the tank.

Obviously, you could pivot to aim, but this is opening your rear armor to all kinds of terrible events.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.

The actual pivot that the lasguns can perform is about 135 degrees.
