Hey Dakka,
Im looking to make a list that combines sisters with scions. I mostly play a friend who fields orks. Either as a large horde, mech army, or any combination in between. Cheese welcome. Im on a 8 game losing streak and want to burn him to dust.
Much love,
Abzapp

You're not really giving us much to go on, and you're already limiting yourself to help from people who have both the Scion 'dex and the AS 'dex.
Can you post an example list, say what orky units you're having trouble with, and what other models you have available?
Running an allied detatchment at 1000pts? Or is this Unbound?

The truth is I dont know. He fields a plethora of different styles between full mech and horde. I figured Sisters would be an interesting list to run cause they can field both lots of flamers and meltas.
I really was just trying to make a good competitive inquisition style list. So any advice to do with army building or tactics would be great.

I'm up for a challenge
Cannoness with Rozarius
5 Sisters with Flamer in Immolator with T/l Heavy Flamer
5 Sisters with Flamer in Immolator with T/l Heavy Flamer
5 Sisters with Flamer in Immolator with T/l Heavy Flamer
Exorcist
Exorcist
Tempestus Command Squad with 2 Flamers
5 Tempestus Scions with 2 Plasma Guns
5 Tempestus Scions with 2 Plasma Guns
That's my idea, comes in 1000 on the dot. Exorcists kill tanks, Sisters, Immolators and Tempestus command cook the boys (hopefully laying on enough wounds to avoid being charged) and you deepstrik the Scions to lay in the hurt on anything in 2+/3+ armour. Keep your Cannoness hidden in a tank or she'll die, she only has that 4++ if she gets hit with anything better than ap3.

Awesome, do you mind if I grill you for a second? Not many SOB players and as long as you are being so helpful I could use all the help haha. I was just wondering if you could quickly explain why you chose what you chose. I understand the choice of the Sisters and the Immolators but why the Exorcists and why the plasma gun? Also what benefit does the Cannoness have as opposed to other HQs?
Again, thanks for your time and the awesome list.

I can maybe help with why he chose what he chose, but since i am, quite obviously, not him, this is only my best guess.
1) Sisters in immolators flame stuff, really, really easily. Orks as a rule have few ranged AT, and rely on power Klaws to do there killing, that means they like it up close. Just were you want them, in perfect flamer formation
2) Excorcists? Why not! They are amazing, D6 AP 1 missiles will shred through any vehicles the enemy may have, from Dreads to Trukks to Wagons, and will instantly kill any MANZ that come your way. Your main source of AT.
3) Plasma Guns, because they are the only special weapon worth anything in this situation. Flamers to short ranged, same with Melta's, and no 3+ saves for the volly gun. You don't want them naked, so Plasma is the only logical choice. Personally i would try make some points and put one of the Scions in the there truck thing, that packs a whollop with it's mini-gatling gun.

Well my primary army is Guard, and my rule is keep it cheap, and have plenty in stock Comes handy in low point games.
Cannoness has two advantages. 1) She's cheap. Compared to Celestine or Jacobus at this point level she saves you the most. 2) She will provide the best buffs to your army. Celestine sadly would not fit well without a jump pack unit, which is too expensive, and in any case she is best in CC, where she can be torn apart by Orks. Jacobus buffs your melee capabilities and your invul saves. He's good but not the best, because of his armour save and Leadership. The Cannoness provides a cheap HQ unit, which is what you need. I gave her the Rozarius to keep her alive longer, assuming anything AP3 hits her.
Exorcists I chose because Ork vehicles to my knowledge aren't altogether well armoured, and S8 is all you need to at least glance AV14. At peak you'll be getting 12 shots from these babies. Sure, at worst it's two, but at AP1 you still have a solid shot of taking out Ork vehicles with just a single shot, and I'm somewhat sure most are open topped. Plus at AV13 with a 6++ they're survivable, never forget Shield of Faith, it's awesome.
The two Scion Teams are there for Big Meks and any sort of tougher units, If your hotshot lasguns can't hurt it it's unfortunate, but that plasma has to be there. These squads are pricy, yes, but can deliver a lot of pain. If you can drop one near a Warboss he's probably not going to be there for another round of shooting. They are the unit that will most likely die in the list, but at the very least they're going to go out in glory. Normally I'd be chucking Grenade Launchers on them, but because your only AP1-2 weaponry is up the backfield on the Exorcists, it's better to have some for throwing at the enemy as well.
If you wanted to take a Taurox Prime there's no reason why you couldn't. The list would become:
Cannoness with Rozarius
6 Sisters with Flamer in Immolator with T/l Heavy Flamer
6 Sisters with Flamer in Immolator with T/l Heavy Flamer
5 Sisters with Flamer and Heavy Flamer
Exorcist
Exorcist
Tempestus Command Squad with 3 Plasma Guns
5 Tempestus Scions with 2 Plasma Guns
Taurox Prime with Gatling Gun and Searchlight
Advantage of that is the Taurox Prime doesn't have to get as close, you get another plasma gun and two more sisters, and the Tempestus Command becomes a shade more useful. The list loses out on the number of units on the board however with the loss of the Scion team, and the Taurox has no invul save. However, since the Taurox is a Fast Attack not Dedicated Transport you can start the game with your Sisters in there rather than having to embark on turn one.
Hope that all helps

Awesome, I feel like I understand what Im doing a whole lot better.
I like the options, it gives me a wide variety of units to paint and field for a multitude of situations.
How do you guys feel about Penitent Engine? They seem pretty good as they get 6 attacks on the charge at strength 5

Honestly I've never ran Penitent Engines, but I'd say they're fairly good. The problem is I'm not entirely sure what they're meant to be.
At their initiative, armour value, attacks and with two heavy flamers, they feel like blob unit killers. Guardsmen, Hormagaunts, maybe even Boys. If it can't hit you at S6 before you can hit them, they die, and probably take enough casualties to run away. Your Hammer of wrath hit here will help too. Plus at S10 AP2 you can punch out vehicles very well. Just avoid charging other walkers that can hit back, often first.
The downsides are that even though they ignore shaken and stunned, they are open-topped. So instead of ignoring half of the damage table (assuming you are hit with anything not AP 1 or 2) you actually only ignore a third of the damage table, and a lucky shot with a heavy bolter can potentially blow you up. However, they have a 6++, so if they score a lucky hit, you might score a lucky save.
In short, they kill blobs, and die to lots of S5+ shots, and anything AP 1 or 2. For their points, they're great. I'd maybe run them in a group of two, but that's just me.

I think I have everything for the sisters down. Now I just gotta find the right ally. Still debating on the Scions haha

If you are going with the Cannoness then cosider the upgrade to give her Eternal Warror as it does make her more survivable as a T3 model?
Is the Taurox (God I hate tha model) and Scions going to be better than Domions and Immolator as Scouts and Fast Attack with upto 4 special weapons? I imagine the Scions are cheaper?

Dunno, just thought it would be a cool idea to include the scions cause then I get access to valkyries. The Taurox can spit out a lot of fire power for something that is so cheap.

I'd say go with Codex: Inquisition rather than Scions. Inquisition get Valkyries too, but they also have some other neat stuff. Plus you can get really cheap access to Plasma Cannons (a warband of 3 Plasma Cannon Servitors is only 60pts!). Add an Inquisitor with combi-weapon to baby sit them and then take another Warband full of 5pt Flak Jacket/Bolter Acolytes and put them in your Valkyrie. Comes to about the same price as those Tempestus allies above.
