Hi,

I have never played a game of W40k, but read lots of white dwarf as a teenager. Now, 15 years later, I went ahead and purchased a Morkanaut / Gorkanaut kit to start off an army. How does this sound as my next few purchases?

HQ
Big Mek with KFF 85

Painboy with grot orderly and boss pole: 60

Troops
29 Ork boyz 235
Nob
Trukk

20 Gretchin 65
1 Runtherd

Fast Attack
Dakkajet 110

Elites
2 Mega Nobz with Boss Nob 160

5 Tankbustas 75
2 bomb squigs

Heavy Support
9 Lootas 156
Mek
Trukk

Gorkanaut 300
KFF
grot riggers

Total: 1246 points

I would like to add a Battlewagon and supa kannon at some point, just because I think those models look great. Any suggestions? Could I sit the supa kannon at the back and just bombard the enemy, or should it be mounted in the battlwagon?

Thanks!

10 boyz can only fit in 1 trukk (with a nob ontop) also your big mekk will probably be shot to pieces as he has a invul save that needs to die. Tankbustas are great if you want them to careen out onto the map for an attempt at first blood on a tank with their bomb squigs and a single dakkajet wont be doing much without a third supa shoota and some luck with flyboss. You are better off using a blitza bommer or even a skorcha bommer due to the rule changes of WAAAGH planes.

Our biggest strength at this point is either massed firepower with lots of luck, or going for a good ol' krumping with lots of cc and lots of fact trukks and wagons to bring the boys to the fight.

If you load up 10 burna boyz with 3 meks you have a nasty infantry clearing wagon that will be the bane of any enemy horde army. You can do an escort of MANz in a wagon too which will draw fire and be hilarious with a Big Mek using his KFF to give a nice invul and repairs to the wagon.

We have tons of options to bring the pain but we are a combined arms ground army mostly and it all needs to work in tandem to crush our enemies. Plan accordingly but be prepared to abandone the plan at a moments notice to throw your boyz at the enemies face once it falls apart. Never expect first blood either.

I think your a little off on some of your builds... 29 Boyz cannot fit in a Trukk...Runt Herds run 1 per 10 grechin (I think?) For suggestions...Lobbas are an exelent value for a Ork horde. Are you looking to go Mekky? Or Goff? If it's "Kult O' Speed!" then more buggies etc look like good purchases. Most anyone likes Loota's A Battlewagon with or without Kannon(s) is a fun addition, and nice and Morky. I always liked Deff Dredds...I don't know if they are still good though...

Get an extra supa Shoota for your dakkajet

For the guy who leaves it all on the field (because he doesn't pick up after the game).
Keep on rolling
