So my friend recently pointed out that the Ultima series is on Origin for 5 bucks per game. This is the series that got me into RPGs in the first place so I am really excited to go back and play them. Anyone else enjoy the series? If so what game and/or moment was your favorite? I'm pretty sure we are well past statute of limitations on spoilers here.

I don't remember playing them as I was much younger. But I do remember loving them dearly.

I played a bunch of them when I was younger. I think Ultima VII was my favorite (Or UO if we are counting that, that was a hoot).

It wasn't until Ultima VII that I finally got into Ultima, so I would have to say U7 is my favorite, While I have all of them, I just haven't really played anything pre-U7.
Oh, and I would recommend getting the games from GOG, not Origin. It will cost you a bit more, as they don't bundle them all into one collection, but not having to run Origin is well worth it.

I have the first 5 on floppies and Ultima 4 is my vote for greatest RPG ever.
you'd think it would be freeware by now. there was a website you could play ultima 4 from your browser.

It's free on GOG.com.

For anyone who wants to know more about the series without playing them (they are really showing their age now, especially the first few games), I highly recommend checking out Spoony's Ultima Retrospective on the series, he does a great job of giving an overview of each game (including Akalabeth and a few of the spin-off games) both in terms of the plot and the gameplay, and how the series expanded over the years.
And then you'll want to cry over what EA did with regards to Ultima 9, the final title in the series.
