I know your allowed a max of three. The ion rifles are 10 points and the rail rifle is 15. To me the ion rifles seem more worth it especially since you can overcharge them. Any thoughts?

The Ion Rifle's AP4 is pretty meh. It's overcharge mode is even more meh (small blasts are not very good, and Gets Hot is dangerous to a model with 5+ armor saves).

The Rail Rifle's S6 is all you need against T4 targets. And it's a surprisingly powerful anti-vehicle weapon, because Pathfinders outflank (so you can nail a vehicle's side armor with AP1 fire). Their rapid fire range reaches out to 6+15=21" on the turn they arrive, and so threatens a huge section of the board.

Still, pathfinders are a very squishy platform for these expensive weapons. You're almost always better off using them purely as markerlight support.

Rail Rifles are better but I would never recommend either as they are better for Markerlight Support. They'll be wiped off the table with a competent opponent anyay, so keep them cheap.
