I have a distinct death/undeath theme running through the Nurgle section of my 40K CD army, and I'm going to be using these guys as Plague Drones..

They're not supplied with bases, and I had originally planned on simply basing them on 60mm rounds.

However, just before I clicked "Buy It Now" on some regular bases I had a thought, and I'd like some feedback as to whether people think it would work, and that thought is to put them on large flying bases, which would make them even closer to Plague Drones from a gaming point of view, and perhaps make them look like ghostly cavalry floating over the battlefield?

Thoughts?

I'd go with solid bases, and I think they could be really cool with a 'dying' effect coming where the hooves touch the ground, ie. Have normal grass bases and then dead grass and dust at those points.

I agree with the above poster but also feel a flying base could look really cool , maybe cut down a little if needed so they are literally just off the ground.

Or maybe mount on a short flying stem above a cavalry base , so feet are just drifting above some burnt grass?

Yeah, I did think about just using a stem to give them some lift....

Gah! I always get conflicted about the little touches, the big ideas seldom give me any issues!!

Hmmm, it would look cooler if the you can portray the horse as something ghostly (would make sense that it's flying!) as opposed to a "normal" skeletal horse if you want to put it on a flight base. Was thinking something like the horses in Mortis Engine and Coven Throne?
