In the forests of Athel Lothern, along the edges close to civilization, dwells a race of Ape-men.An off-shoot race of Beastmen, said to have been created by a lesser chaos god determined to eliminate the wood elves. The god has long since abandoned the apemen, having been left to their own devices they have created a tribal socieoty
The Apemen tribes are lead by their Shamans, apes who posses an inborn fimilarity with Ghur and Ghyran. These two combined allow the Shamans to create hybrid lifeforms, know as Chimera. They also are capable of manipulating local life, creating fearsome war beasts.

After seeing the new Planet of the Apes, I thought "damn, that'd make a cool warhammer army", and so I did that, then wrote some fluff about it. If you're familiar with my Bloodborn fluff (Of which exactly 2 people are familiar with.) it will progress much like that, random bits of fluff in no real order. And no, this wont get in the way of that (Again, addressing the 2 people that know what "that" is)

Once every decade, on the 28th of Sigmarzeit, the fractured Apemen tribes are united under the flag of The Warlord Ghorl* for a year long Military Campaign. The united tribes march against the Woodelf cities, intent on the death of every wood elf that should cross their path. This campaign is known as The Purging of Athel Lothern, and every apeman is forced to fight or die (The Shamans are exempt from this rule, often sitting back in the tribes to provide Chimera-support. If, by chance, a Shaman should appear on the battlefield he would be quite the force to be reckoned with). Each Purge is created with a different goal, though always striving for the eventual destruction of the wood elves. Should Ghorl be feeling particularly merciful he shall order the apemen take prisoners, rewarding any who do (Often by making Chimeras of them). These prisoners will be taken to the Shamans to be brutally tortured and turned into the most vile of Chimeras.

""Take your stinking paws off me, you damn dirty ape!"- The last words of a Wood Elf ranger before being horrifically mutilated by the Shamans.

The Gifted are Apemen who have pleased Ghorl during the Purging (Either by collecting a large amount of prisoners, or preforming other great feats). They are sent to The Old One*, greatest of the Tribal Shamans. It is here that they recive the blessing of Ghorl, their legs and lower abdomen are fused with the lower body of a snake (Which has been enlarged and empored by the Old One), and given enhanced strength through fusing their upperbodies with that of a Gorrilla (Which creates no difference in outward appearence). The Gifted are highly respected in the Tribes, seen as being some of the greatest warriors of Athel Lothern. In combat, they serve as calvalry, their snakelike forms allowing them to slither effortlessly across the battlefeild with blinding speed.
