Subject: The Deluge: Northern War 1655-1660" Kickstarter campaign
Encouraged by the success and positive player opinions we decided to use Kickstarter once more in order to finance the first large By Fire and Sword supplement: The Deluge: Northern War 1655-1660. The main aim is to gather funds to publish Polish version of the supplement (which is almost ready) and finish work on English version so it can be published as well.
What will you find in The Deluge? The supplement focuses on the events of the Northern War of 1655-1660 and introduces many changes and new elements into the game. First and foremost 3 new armies will make an appearance:
Transylvania: The army of prince Rákóczi, the ruler of Transylvania is coming from the South. Fast cavalry units are raiding Polish lands and the main forces of the prince are marching to meet their Swedish allies.
The Holy Roman Empire: The soldiers of this army have some old grudges to settle with the Swedes, defeats of the Thirty Years War are still fresh in their memory. Led by experienced generals, the imperial cuirassiers, knechts and dragoons come to aid the Commonwealth and Denmark.
Brandenburg: the Great Elector is playing a tricky political game by maneuvering between the warring parties. The Brandenburg-Prussian army is gathering precious experience on the battlefields of Poland, Prussia and Denmark.
All the new armies are introduced into our game with beautiful artwork and comprehensive historical descriptions.
The main forces of the conflict, that is the armies of Sweden and the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, are extensively restructured, taking into consideration the characteristics of this conflict. Both armies receive new Skirmish and Division levels lists.
Apart from these new armies the Deluge also includes ten brand new Skirmish level scenarios! The new scenarios will replace and elaborate upon the scenarios from the main rulebook.
In The Deluge you will find new rules, new units and unit structures for some of the already published armies, a comprehensive historical introduction, many new astounding pieces of art and photographs and much, much more.
The first 4 stretch goals have already been reached, but we have a lot more in store
"By Fire and Sword - Deluge" Kickstarter: New Stretch Goals, New Freebie, New Add Ons
Hurrray!! The 6th Stretch Goal for passing 20000£ achieved - Prussian Territorial Defense is currently unlocked! Now onwards to 22500£!
The participating backers decided the fate of "Who will Become the Brandenburgian General" contest.
The official commander therefore is: Georg von Derfflinge.
It seems that the idea of a drunken cavalry officer was strong encouragement for many backers.
Pdf with his rules (both in Polish and English) will be published soon on the official "By Fire and Sword" website.
The next stretch goal to achieve is on 22500£ which will bring some new dragoon models for the Brandenburgian army.
At 25000£ we will see the return of Mercenary infantry - old type (style) set, with re-sculpted miniatures.
It will be a nice addition to both Swedish and Polish-Lithuanian armies.
Finally, to celebrate reaching the number of 150 backers, we've decided to prepare a new freebie - the mini of the Polish Queen,
Maria Louise Gonzaga, sitting on a military drum and commanding some Polish cannons!

41000 Gathered! New stretch goals! New historical PDF - Plenty of the Tartars...
The Transylvanian and Brandenburgian commanders' small sets are now unlocked!
When we reach level of 45000 this will unlock another Transylvanian unit – light Székely cavalry/’chimney’ cavalry (like ‘chimney smoke’ in Polish infantry).
It will allow finally to build base of the division. It will be small set of 6 mounted models.
At level of 47000 there will be 3 large sets: High Command for Transylvania, Holy Roman Empire and Brandenburg.
It’s final set that will allow to publish ‘from skirmish to division’ bundles. There will be approx. 17 mounted and 6 dismounted models/set (number may vary depends on nation).
If we manage to unlock this level, every backer with rank of Knecht and above will receive free miniature of prince Bogusław Radziwiłł. We will also publish pdf with rules for him and his troops (division level)!
Brand new historical skirmish force, composed of elite Tartars supporting Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth against Swedes in 1656.
As an ‘KS exclusive’ offer we present special bundle, that will allow You to deploy full force of this Tartar battle group.
90 mounted miniatures, including ‘KS exclusive’ Polish officer, nicknamed ‘rotamaster Andrew’…
Those that read Sienkiewicz’s ‘The Deluge’ or seen Hoffman’s movie will know who we had in mind.
Muscovite Field Dragons and Historical Division Bundles Available!
There are only 3 days left! We are extremely excited and still have some surprises in store for you. Thanks for your amazing support so far!
Long expected by Muscovite players: Field Dragoons! We have them in 2 options: individual companies and entire regiment:
Regiment (39 mounted models and 36 models on foot, ie. 4 companies and commander).
Blister with one company (9 foot and 9 mounted models).
We would also like to ask for your help with spreading the word about “Deluge”. Please encourage your friends,
post information on your blogs, facebook groups, forums etc. The more backers we muster the more precious Thalers we can give you,
so every backer may make the difference!
This time it’s something really big: Historical commanders division bundles.
As you can see we haven’t listed very detailed list of models for every regiment because of very simple reason.
We don’t want to force you to play fully predefined army and prefer to give you a choice. Instead of it we inform you
only about available regiments and available total number of models in bundle. Every backer may choose by himself
(or consult with us) what models should be chosen – the only limitation is total number of models in bundle.
Rules for every division can be found in pdf files presented below.
Ivan Bohun’s Division the Retreat After the Battle of Berestechko in 1651
Please remember we will publish also some Skirmish-to-division-upgrade-bundles as soon as High Command Sets for all new armies (47K Stretch Goal) will be unlocked.
46000 Reached!!! New models available! New stratch goals! Historical Divisions Bundles #2!
Imperial Unarmored Cuirassiers are now unlocked!
We have reached 44k so portable obstacles are now unlocked!
As promised, by reaching 44k, 3 sets of order tokens for new armies: Brandenburg, Transylvania and Holy Roman Empire are unlocked!
The Transylvanian unit – light Székely cavalry/’chimney’ cavalry (like ‘chimney smoke’ in Polish infantry). Having it unlock will allow finally
to build base of the division. It will be small set of 6 mounted models.
On 47k there will be 3 large sets: High Command for Transylvania, Holy Roman Empire and Brandenburg. It’s final set that will allow to
publish ‘from skirmish to division’ bundles. There will be approx. 17 mounted and 6 dismounted models/set (number may vary depends on nation).
In response to your requests we have also decided to add a set of 9 dice for collectors as an add-on option.
