I've read the rules that come in the box, the rules in the main book and the Strong Hold assault rules and I still don't understand how it works.

Can I target the gun and just roll to wound against a Toughness 7? Or is it AV14 no matter how you shoot it?

There's seems to be mixed ideas of how it works and I'm trying to clarify it before Saturday. People are saying there is a difference between an emplaced gun and a Gun Emplacement.

It's a building with an emplaced weapon.

AV 14, and uses the building damage table, not T and W characteristics.

GW used two VERY similar terms for radically different weapon types. Emplaced weapons are fired from inside the building, or BY the building, and LOS is down the weapon's barrel.
