I was reading the new codex boyz data sheet and I noticed that shoota boyz only swap there slugga for a shoota and still keep there choppas does this mean that they still get the extra attack? And benefits of the slugga boyz plus a shoota. That would make them to go to troop choise. Anyone help me with this.

No. Shootas do not count as an additional close combat weapon as it lacks the pistol categorization that allows it to be used in conjunction with a CCW like the choppa to give the +1 attack.

Sluggas are not a unique melee weapon that also has a shooting profile. Theyre pistols, and pistol weapons count as a CCW in combat. Thats where the +1 attack comes from.

I havnt touched shoota boyz since the new dex dropped, as i am utilizing slugga boyz to great effect lately.
