Greetings all.

The title says it all I guess... Any thoughts on the best ally combination for chaos daemons? I'd rather like to add a firebase to my speedy horde, so perhaps someone with good shooty options... But anything goes really. I don't even mind the level of alliance, provided there are suggestions to work around the restrictions.

Cheers!

Honestly, from my perspective, Daemons don't really NEED any allies, but if you really want to bring some, especially for fire bases, take CSM and roll out some Tri-Las-Predators.

The reason I say it's not really necessary, is mostly because the things you can often take for Daemons, end up also being able to be taken by CSM. Take Forgeworld for example. A lot of Forgeworld models for the Chaos Faction can be taken by both factions, which really evens out the stagnant state CSM have fallen into with their lack of viable options in their vanilla Codex.

Decimators, Plague Hulks, Blight Drones, Bloodslaughters, are all capable of being taken in both armies, which in the long run can save you the effort of having to sink points into a Lord of some sort, or other expensive HQ choice. And saves you from having points into Troops.

That all being said, If you want allies, CSM Tri-Las-Preds and Relic Predators with Heavy Conversion Beamers work WONDERS as Base Gunners, firing off str 10 ap 1 Large Blasts.

I've been allying in CSM and the Murderpack formation for Slaanesh based and that's been just super fun. 3 Soul Grinders , Murder Packs, Heralds of Slaanesh, Seekers, Daemonettes , Lash Prince. All with access to telepathy.

It's probably not the most competitive but it is really fun.

If I lose it is because I had bad luck, if you win it is because you cheated.

Daemons dont need allies, taking csm just makes them weaker.

CSM is useful for getting ranged antitank in the army.

I can approve of this. I've done this a few times and it's been a real help. The fact these things are just hilarious now, TL-LCs or Multi-Meltas Deepstriking 3 into enemy lines. Or walking 5 across the board for all of them randomly getting to fire off their weapons twice. It's a scary thing to go up against. It's also extremely fun to watch! The Hellcult is always fun as well as the troops can hold objectives while the Hellbrute beats on anything that is foolish enough to get close. And poof! When it dies, they little buggers gain Zealot! Which is great!

Yeah being able to pick your crazed result with the Murderpack is bonus as well.

They also work well with Belakor as he can fly around w/ them giving them shrouded.

Daemons don't need allies. If you're going to bring some maybe CSM.

CSM is the fluffiest choice, but if I played Daemons main, I would probably run Necrons as allies.

A Bargelord, two Scythes with warriors and a Barge is 'only' 660 points.
