I know the post heresy 1k sons are typically blue and gold, but I was wondering if that was just the outcasts. Are the 1k sons that remain on the Planet of Sorcerers with Magnus still pre heresy paint scheme? I thought I had come across that somewhere but can't remember where.

It doesn't specify, but in the Lexicanum Magnus in Daemon form still has his red and gold pre-Heresy colors, so if you're playing homeworld Thousand Sons, I'd model em as Red/Gold.

Ahrimans warband changed to blue/gold as detailed in Ahriman exile. There were other warbands tho.

Has anyone has read battle of the fang? That was an attack lead by Magnus but I dont know the time period ir what colour the sons were then.

What was the title of that thread because I went all the way back to January of last year on 1k sons and either I missed it or its under something else. Either way I would like to read it.

There's always making your own Thousand Sons warband and using whatever color scheme you choose. Some of the Sorcerers were exiled and left to fend for themselves. So why wouldn'y at least one change their colors to be unique?
