Is it worth it to have a Painboy in a 500 point list?

I mean Fnp on a group of 20 boyz and a Warboss sounds appealing but is it worth 50 points?

Here is a list i made the main thing it lacks is a way to efficiently deal with armor or a gun line but my main enemy is CSM so i am not to worried to about my men dying before they get to CC.

Warboss;PK;BP;eavy = 94

Painboy = 50

20 boyz slugga + nob;PK;BP = 166

17 boyz slugga + nob;PK;BP = 148

10 gretchin + runtherder + squig hound = 40

498

Thanks

Ah, I see you have run into the great Mephiston, Lord of Cheese! Not to worry, that block of chedder can be tied up easily with 30 boyz, can get his ass handed to him in a match with Ghazzy, and can be squigified with Zogwort. How satisfiying would that be? ....Squigfiston, Lord of gak...

It very likely is. The mob that has the painboy is a lot harder to remove, and the pain boyz itself brings a second nob profile to the mob, which is not to be underestimated. Many times, I had the doc kill that one additional model to make my opponent lose the combat rather than braking even.

I just don't see a reason to bring those gretchin in your case. I'd rather bring a single killa kan or a pair of koptas instead. Gretchin are not going to be a big help with anything.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

Use grots as big gunz crew. And scratch-build your big gunz. 2 squads of a few lobbas will do for small games. They're really worth it. For that 40 + 2 pts you get 2 squads of 4 t7 wounds with 3+ in front that shoot across the field with a 1-use twin-link. Or you can make them kannonz. since you got literally no ranged anti-tank.

The Painboy is basically 50 points to give your boyz FNP, so they have some sort of save.

I've been running this at 500 points with success. Without they Painboy, the boyz would have died before accomplishing anything.

Orks 500pts
19 slugga choppa boyz(114pts), nob(10pts), 1 rokkit launcha (5pts), boss pole(5pts)
1 Painboy 50 pts
10 gretchin 35 pts
1 bunker with escape hatch 80pts
1 Deff Dread 4PK (100pts)
5 Mek gunz (Lobbas) with 4 extra gretchin crew (102pts)

FNP has been usefull to counteract some of the wounds from the new Mob Rule as well.
