Hello all,

I decided that I would shelf my Blood Angels for a few months and give the AM/IG a try since they are my second favorite 40k race (DE being third lol.)

But I just don't seem to be able to get the ball rolling with what I should be playing with and what units to field. I made the rookie mistake of just buying what looked cool with my BA and the majority of my units don't work as well as I would hope, so I don't want to repeat the same mistake twice.

So far, I only have a single infantry squad, a PCS, a CCS, and a Leman Russ Battle Tank completely magnetized. Now, I know I'm gonna be buying a second infantry squad to make a full platoon, and then buy another two and a second PCS to have the two required infantry slots filled, but from there I have no idea what to buy next.

I think my preferred play style with the Guard is tanks supported by infantry and maybe flyers, but I don't know what units work well with each other and how to orchestrate an effective force.

Please leave any suggestions below on how I should go about doing this. Thank you very much.

If you're new to Guard, then check out the link in my sig (the Complete Guide To Guard). It covers every unit apart from the Taurox and Bullgryn, how to use then and what they work with. Its a fairly long article, but should answer most of your questions or at least point you in the right direction.

If (before or after reading the article) you have any more specific questions then post them here and I'll do my best to answer them.
