In a chair, staring at a screen

I'm addicted to making short stories, but they never consist, and that is what I intend to fix.

Prologue:

Nemesor Semerkhet sat in his court room, unable to debate this most disturbing matter. His courtroom consisted of a golden throne laden with mystical and exotic jewels. This was his favorate place to sit and Semerkhet believed that his decisions should always be verified with his court first. "Lord Ogonoz, what is your opinion on the issue with splinter fleet Titan?" Ogonoz was a wise and trusted noble, notorious for his ability to accurately predict what would happen, but only if he was payed a ludicrous amount of raw materials. To have such an asset on your court didn't come cheap. "If my predictions are correct, you have no reason to delay the preparations on the assault on hive world Dyanik." Semerkhet was grateful Ogonoz was on his court; He had won many wars with his highly valuable information. The hive world that they were planning to attack had never been ventured on by human or other alien life forms, the splinter fleet were clearly hiding something. "Lord Trakesz, i Ned you to marshal the legions of warriors and-" the command was never finished. The multiple apocalypse sized melta bombs saw to that.

Next chapter tomorrow

In a chair, staring at a screen

Chapter one:

Phaeron Atamu was having a bad day. Several reports of ymgarl genestealer infestations on his fringeworlds had been submitted to his personal archive. Even though his forces had pushed them back, he had incured heavy losses. It was only a matter of time until another issue with the tyranids became a massive thorn in his backside. Sophisticated trading routes between necron dynasties were now complex ways of attacking the splinter fleets hive worlds. He remembered the time back in Semerkhet's royal court; he was the only survivor and had no idea who set of the bombs. "Phaeron Atamu, as you can see, or more accurately not see, is that this is a hidden tyranid facility." The master program of Atamu's crownworld reported over the speaker mounted on the ceiling. "We will need at least 40 legions of immortals to take over that place." Said Anrakyr the traveler, who insisted that there was a hidden tomb there. Atamu figured his immediate disadavantage was the loss of a significant amount of immortals after he invested to much of them in the Carnac campaign.

On Terra...

Marcus Despain banged his head against the aged and rusted steel table that was placed in the far corner of his dingy room. He was 14 years old, with brown curly hair and nutmeg brown eyes. He had a medium build and a medium hight. Marcus had a serious case of mediumness. Nobody knew his past, apparently he was found in a basket on someone's front door. Soon after that those people had handed him to the authorities, who had then dumped him in the hands of a struggling care home. He showed an amazing talent in technology and physics. A knock on his flimsy wooden door snapped him out of the trance he usually got while doing homework and said "Enter," then someone entered the room who would change his life forever.
