I know gw said that forge world may be used in everyday games. But when do you use a forge world point cost and rule over a gw one.
Astra militarium manticore for example.
Forge world manticore 130 pts (IA last update.) Comes with 7" str 10 ap1 rockets. Storm eagle may be purchased for are 15 pts more.
AM manticore 175 pts...comes with Strom eagle rockets.
Other then that both models areidenticle.
Since I already have a couple FW tanks, is there anything stopping me from just saying "that's the forge world manticore" and saving the points.

IA 1 2nd edition is priced to the 5th edition IG codex. As such, the points are not up to date with C: AM.

Personally I would not use IA1 until FW gets around to updating it.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.
Gozer the Gozerian, Gozer the Destructor, Volguus Zildrohar, Gozer the Traveler, and Lord of the Sebouillia

I would use the latest rules available, the new AM codex. That being said if you are running the ABG (Armoured Battle Group) from IA then you should use the point costs specifically listed for that group (somewhat more expensive on tanks, cheaper flyers) until updated.

HIWPI for Manticore missiles: the price for a Manticore mounting them is (Storm Eagle Manticore - 15). Since the newest version of the Storm Eagle Manticore is in the new IG codex, you should take its price and subtract 15 if you want to field it with Manticore missiles.

Also, on a similar issue, I'm really really not fond of people who are using the Kustom Stompa rules from IA8 to pay 200 points less for their Stompas. If you're using wargear that isn't represented in the newer rules (the Belly Gun, for instance) I sympathize, but I think you should probably try to recost it in line with the new, improved Stompa.

The vendetta is also another debatable unit. 40 points different there too.

If you playing in a tournament that allows FW, ask your TO. Otherwise ask your opponent.
