Hey guys. I was wondering if the IG Hydra still has Autotargeting (ignores Jink bonus). I didn't see this special rule mentioned in any of the crunch of the C:AM or the BGB, particularly under Hydra Autocannon or Skyfire USR respectively. And a quick glance over the Hydra's page in the codex yielded no mention of Autotargeting, yet the fluff portion of the Wyvern directly states it utilizes a "bastardised version of the Hydra's Auto-targeting systems."
I'm entirely unfamiliar when it comes to IG; I'm just starting to take a look at them with hopes of fielding an army eventually. That being said I could easily have overlooked something so any and all clarifications are appreciated.

ahhh gak. they should at least have that or interceptor in my opinion to be reasonably viable at the bare minimum. but thanks.
i think it's safe to say i would've preferred being kept in the dark heh.

No, hydras gained nothing between codexes, dropping 5 points but are now open topped, as well as losing the auto targeting rule.

Excellent, thank you sir!
Looking at the book now... seems like if you want to utilize the ABG Hydras you'll need to field an anti-aircraft company as an allied contingent to a regular IG army? Am I understanding that correctly? I'm not sure if that satisfies the rules for an allied detachment requiring 1 HQ and 1 Troop since the Hydras are classified as heavy support... Either way I'd like to know how I can have access to the auto-targeting if I think my opponents will be doing a lot of Jinking.
The anti-aircraft company is detailed as such:
> Company HQ - One LR of your choice
> Anti-Aircraft Squadron - Three Hydras

I wasn't completely honest in the OP. I'm also looking at IG anti-air to use as a supplement in my DA army, since the best thing we have is devastators. I'm trying to avoid FW units for now but if it got down to it I'd might as well just get the Contemptor Mortis. Otherwise, the Vendetta is a fine alternative but I'd probably end up sticking with the Hydras. They just look so damn awesome.

ABG is basically a FW codex, you can use them just like AM but everything is either embarked in a vehicle or an actual vehicle. That is, Russes as a troop choice.
Hydras are a HS slot, so for an allied detachment to a DA force you could take a Command Vanquisher (HQ), another Russ (troop), and 1-3 Hydras in a vehicle squadron as your HS choice. One thing to note is that none of the AM/ABG anti-air have interceptor, so make sure to position correctly.
You can also run FW Manticores with Skystrike missiles in a regular AM list, which is the cost of two Hydras but offers a twin-linked Ordnance 9/2 shot instead.
