U're supposed to have rokkits everywhere. They hurt flyrants. Besides, it's a good matchup to test new trakktor kannonz.

Tl-rokkit buggies, tl kopta rokkits, boyz with rokkits, vehicles with rokkits, tankbustas if you have some. And note that tankbustas will evaporate any tyranid mc with meltabombz, though i'd not count on this tactics.

And regular boyz fare well vs tyranid MC in mellee especially when you have a mek to die in challenge instead of a pk nob.

Orkses are doing well vs tyranids if you play it smart. Just try not to spread fire. MC don't loose effectiveness when wounded. They loose effectiveness only when they're dead.

Lootas hurt almost all nids and you need them to thin the herd before THE clash. Nids hit first, and harder in some cases.

Focus on genestealers and zoanthropes with them. Then work your priority from biggest to small.

Id suggest shoota boyz. The overwatch is likely to take a couple of em out if you give your squad some numbers. (20 or so)

Burnas and skorchas work well as well.

And i had Ghazkghkull and his nob squad (with painboy) work their way through, a flyrant, tyrant, mawloc, some raveners and warriors and old one eye before ghazkull was the one left standing with 2 wounds

Looks like good advice...your best friends vs Nids is Volume of fire, and Skorchas. Deff Dreads are another surprise unit. So Flash Gits, Lootas, and Burna Boyz can do a lot of work. And Powa Klaws can damage Big Bugs just fine.

battlewagons of 'ard boys to deal with the horde.

I had 17 'ard boys, a painboy and a megaboss with the lucky stikk easily kill a wraithknight, and they don't come 'arder than that. nids won't be causing instant death without boneswords, so painboys are a really sound option.

Grotzooka kans. 6 kans with 6 zookas, 12 S6 AP5 blasts per turn. immune to warriors, gaunts, and with enough hullpoints to survive all but the luckiest of tyranid MC's in combat (6 attacks, 6 hit, 6 pen and 6 explode, not likely!) killa kans will be brilliant here.

5 burnas in a trukk, twice. use them to herd the gaunts away from objectives, subtly. 110 points gets you a unit that's a waste for him to kill, but really effective against him.

Meganobs do well against hormogaunts, but obviously fall down against monsters. 3 in a trukk for an el cheapo rock to throw.

I imagine the morkonaught or gorkonaught would be pretty swell, AV13 means they'll need to smash to get a good hit in, which is then unlikely to kill it if you're only just getting your number of trukks up though, you might not have big shiny new things yet.

nastiest thing against a nid horde would be, say, 5 meganobs, lucky stikk megaboss and dok grotsnik. 2+ rerollable save, fearless, feel no pain and, most crucially, rampage. 4+D3 attacks each on the charge for the MANz, 5+D3 for the boss & grotsnik. maximum attacks at S9-10 AP2 from these 7 models: 51. at WS5. only if outnumbered, but that's the only time you need that many attacks! against a monster, they'll get their feel no pain, and if 2 die, they still have 22 attacks that'll wound on 2's, no saves.

I've got a game against nids next week, I've just talked myself into making more meganobs...

From my impressions, nids seem to rely less on horde these days and more on shooty MC's like flyrants and dakkafexes as well as more elite units. For heavy support I think traktor kannons and lootas are probably the best way to deal with them. MANz can take care of the more elite units like warriors and raveners as well as the venom and zoanthropes.

Then the boyz can take care of the rest...hopefully
