Played a game last night with the new ork dex. My opponent had an Imperial Knight and I had no idea how to kill it so I just ignored it. My army consisted of about 15 rockit launchers, but at ballistic score 2/3 it wouldn't have done much. Also all of my power klaws are useless because getting into close combat with a knight is decimating. Any one out there know how to handle knights with the new ork codex???

Wouldn't a powerklaw warboss in a unit of boyz mess up a knight? He'll survive to swing because the squad can take the few hits at I4 that the knight gets, and then 5 S10 attacks hitting on 3's should score you some pens and with luck, the knight dies in one round.

It's possible but I rarely get all 5 of my attacks to hit. With an attk squig I can probably get 4 hits. Then I still gotta roll for wounds. But remember that once it's hull points run out it's doing a big nasty boom.

my orks, pre 7th ed codex, were taking down reaver and warhound titans with nothing more then 30 man boyz squads and the PK nobs/warbosses juuuust fine....

yes its decimating in CC to your boyz, ESPECIALLY after you blow it up, but trading a 200 pt boyz unit for a 375 knight is worth it,

just make sure, you do NOT bunch up the guys with power claws, so that he cannot hit them all with one stomp and kill them all witha lucky 6 roll on the stomp table

you also have acces to meks (normal not big) that you can put in infantry squads, kill saws will wreck face on knights, and its fairly cheap, and modular as you can move them around to whwat unit you need.\

3 MAN's with kill saws in a trukk is 180 pts IIRC, two of those is 360 pts,

should easily take out a 375 pt knight and then some

tank busters work extremely well in CC or shooting against knights... the rokkits are assault, and they have meltabombs on every guy, so your are hitting on 4's, pretty much everything will penetrate, and you take off d3 HP's for ever 5 you roll...

esp if the tankbusters are in a transport you can hopfully get around the knight,

also buggies have outflank now, and twin linked rokkits, great for making the knight move his sheild the wrong way and getting an extra hit off

I'm going to second the idea of tankbustas, specifically assaulting with meltabombs.

Anecdotally, my last game a battlewagon full of tankbustas took one hull point off with their rokkits, then the other 5 by plastering it with meltabombs in CC. This was after I failed a fear test and completely forgot to use the Tank Hunters rule.

Granted, most of them died from stomps or the titan explosion, but a few survived. I would think that rokkits and/or power klaws will eventually get the job done, I just cant think of a faster or cheaper way of killing a Knight titan than by using tankbustas.

I think blob is the way to go.

30 boyz with a pk nob and warboss with da luckky stikk should be able to take care of them in a round or two.
