So, who on Dakka is playing FSA and which factions are you playing?

I've got 2k of RSN and the Battle for Valhalla Terrans and Drindrenzi.

And if you haven't already, you should stop by and check in with the player finder.

I've got 800ish Aquans.

Just figuring out what to next to take it to the next bracket (after the mandatory T3 ships).

Cool, Aquans look awesome and are downright lethal. How I want to buy them just to field their Battle Carrier. So much awesome packed into one ship.

Are you over at Spartan as well?

Yeah I'm over there too.

I know what you mean about the battle carrier. It will probably be that or the Orca squadron I get next.

Was tempted by some Ryushi as I like the look of their stuff but not too sure how well they'd fit with the aquans.

I am looking to get started. I love the RSN ships, but don't know if my friends will play.

Very nearly 2000pts of Sorylians in the new version, and about 700pts of old Sorylians. I also have about 500pts of Ryushi and looking to expand into a Zenian faction, potentially Dindrezi or RSN when they get new models.

You can find me at the Spartan forums as TwoToneWyvern.

Definitely try and get them started. Two good players promoting the game can be enough to get it to take off.

I just comp, entered my RSN with the current models. Of course it's just enough time for them to release new models and make all of mine "old". Though I really like them, have converted them to a reverse orientation, and am hoping I still like them better than the incoming new models.

Its not that I dislike the current RSN models, its that Spartan has done such an excellent job updating old kits, I know I'll love the new ones more.

Since I have zero emotional attachment to the current RSN line up, I'm happy to wait for what exciting things come.

I did see your conversions, very cool. That reminds me that I need to actually post in those threads after I've oggled at the pictures.

Thanks, I've got to get cracking on finishing the fleet. May end up waiting until after NoVA, then I'll be spending most of my gaming time on FSA.

I have odds and ends, but when looking for help I found the Spartan Community pretty toxic. I'm also waiting for the Oroshan and Marauders to be updated. From what little I've played it's fun, but not sure what faction if any I would settle on.

Sorry to hear that. When did you post and where in particular? We had a bout a few months ago where a few members left after some heated discussions, but I've found the forums there now to be quite excellent. Its small, so the culture can be pretty ingrained at times, but I've had no problems.

I'm a big supporter of FSA in the East Midlands and have probably pushed it in my shop more than anywhere else around here. Got around 15 players now with a league running with a tournament at the end of the month and a campaign in the pipeline as soon as Planetfall drops.

There is so much out there aside from 40k and Games Workshop and I've found those who have made the switch to FSA have not looked back on GW. A lot is down to price but mostly it's down to a solid rule set that is easy to grasp but has enough complexity to make it interesting. The models are the dogs nuts as far as I'm concerned too.

I'm also on the Spartan Forums. A much better place than...here ;-)

I wouldn't say either forum is better, they're just different. Comes with Dakka being one of the largest wargaming forums, and Spartan being a fairly small and focused community.

But yes, Spartan is a breath of fresh air from GW. As long as Spartan works with the community the way its doing, they'll continue to get my support.

I find this extremely interesting. I've seen and been met with nothing but quality discussion, good fun, and an overall polite and respectful community, whereas on Dakka its size has led to a much more vocal, negative, and harsh environment.

I definitely find Spartan a breath of fresh air compared to GW.

Different strokes for different folks. Looking forward to the ground game, might help me settle on a fleet. All of them have little niggles or sub par units that bug me. :-P
