Subject: [750] - Astra Militarum - AM to kill SW list

Hi people, I wonder if someone here could kindly help me by reviewing/give pointers on my choices, as I've never played AM before (I've just collected and painted them).
I'm looking to make a very tailored army on 750p, made to kill an enemy Space Wolf army that's specializes in close combat, with 2 heroes and the rest all kinds of regular marines with melee weapons and some wolfs.
Here's what I've come up with so far:
HQ: CCS with no addons and is just there to give orders.
Troops: 2 platoons with 2 PCS and 4 guardsmen squads and with 2 HB between them.
3 HWT with AC (thinking about HB since the marines will armorsave so many shots anyway).
Heavy: LR exterminator with HB sponsor.
My general battleplan is to advance with the guardsmen to take and hold any objectives and for the tank to follow at mid-distance, with the heavy weapons hanging back to use their range to shower the foe in metal.
The listed units are 717 pts strong right now.
Besides what I've listed I also have a chimera, a Leman Russ, yarrik, 5 Ogryns and some 30 odd additional guardsmen.
May the Emperor protect.

Tailoring is bad mk?
ID make sure i have enough bodies to surround your stuff as SW could possibly Drop pod in.
Id go with Pask in a punisher as that will generally put out a TON of wounds on marines and can take care of the occasional HEAVY vehicles. keep the troops simple and maybe give em a plasma or two just in case.
Pask buddy can be a executioner which would be great for terminators that could pop up.

A punisher is an interesting idea, I just worry that they'll assault it easily when it needs to be so close.
No need to take care against drops or terminators though, I've seen his armylist already and he doesn't have any models even :v
About the plasma, do you mean get some veterans with 3 plasmas?

Well what im saying is since its a low points game, rather than focusing on weight of fire to get through armor. Though since you are running guard weight of fire through mass auto cannons can work. (id pref them over heavy bolters for range and strength)
I think what you could do is go Pask n execution friend with more PLASMA, a PCS (probably with snipers) 3ish infantry squads and a vet squad and a priest. blob the infantry squad and make em fearless, probably get the vets a tarox or chimera to be a bit mobile (perhaps plasma or melt gun x 2).
gives you a chunky unit for him to chew at that wont run away while you are return firing with mass plasma (execution) and DAKKA with pask Chimera moves up with the vets to score some points (or you can park the vets and send the chimera to score some points)

Hmm an executioner would be a awe-inspiring sight for even the stoutest terminator, assuming it doesn't torch itself instantly

Its generally why you want pask or some flavor of reroll 1s near by (ammo dump)

Pask would be a fair bit over half the points of your army. But could win you the game on his own at 750. A Pask list would look a bit like this:
Pask: Punisher with MMs & LC 425
Executioner: PCs
Vets: 3 plasmas, autocannon 130
Vets: 3 plasmas, autocannon 130
Wyvern 65
Though taking just 2 meltas and a Taurox on each Vet squad would give more tactical flexibility though your post suggested you lacked the means to do a full mech list?
In the end of the day your best bet is to decide what type of list you want to run. Blob guard, mech, artillery heavy, Russ wall? Then we can help you decide the good choices to help that type of list. Certain types of list require allies to really flourish (blob guard in particular) others less so. However mobile scoring is important in 7th with mobile ObSec even better. So keep that in mind.
So what do you want the list to play/look like?

Well, I don't really know my playstyle since I'm so inexperienced, but in strategygames I usually favour tanks, artillery and long ranged weapons, I guess I'd fit more to play as a Tao but they've got such dull models compared to the vibrant Guardsmen so I choose them when I started collecting.
I don't have any artillery or taurox right now, though I do have a chimera and some spacemarines with fliers, but I feel it's a bit too few points to drag allies into the mix.
My ideal army, if I had the points and the models, would be tanks and fliers and HWT sitting well away from the frontlines, with some guardsmen there to take objectives and look menacing.
As for the Pask idea, 2 tanks with Pask sounds neat, and reading up on Pask's abilities makes him sound pretty good.
I don't see the point of the Executioner version of CS though, seems a waste when you can choose 3 regular attacks instead.
Besides the tanks though, I'm unsure if it's better to have regular guardsmen backed by HWT rather then a few plasmaarmed veterans, there'd be many times the dakka without veterans, and are the veterans really gonna get of enough shots before the enemy reach them in assault? Autopenetrating armour is nice but seems a gamble on one or two turns that they'll be in range.
What about one Veteran squad with 3 plasma, 1 infantery platoon with vanilla commander and 2 guardsmen squads plus a HWT? Plus the tanks ofcourse.
Also, I do realise I'm pushing HWT everywhere, but they seem nice and I've got 10 models of them :v
